This book is well worth it. Its full of Antonio Carluccio’s passion for food. The first section gives you the details about pasta, its origins and the different types. More importantly it tells you how to make it and the different coloured and eggless varieties.
Then you get the recipes. I’ve tried a few and they are easy to follow and very tasty. The pictures are good and the directions simple. The only slight disappointment is that they are not all using fresh pasta. I bought this to accompany my new pasta machine and would like a few more ideally. However, that’s a minor quibble when you read through this book. Its an excellent book by itself but bought with a pasta machine it makes a great companion and allows you to start using fresh and dried pasta in lots of very tasty ways

A good pasta book. I don’t usually bother reading the text part at the front of recipe books, but this was interesting and helpful. I find his tone a little inflexible and stuck in his ways, but I respect his words at the same time. The recipes are ok, some use hard to find ingredients, and not all rock my boat, but the are enough in there to make it worth it, and I wanted it more for the pasta making section anyway, which is decent enough, but nothing ground breaking. I’m not sure if it’d recommend it or not to be honest, but I don’t regret buying it.

Antonio is great and I have a lot of his books. I like his approach to food and cooking.
Be advised that you cannot use this book on Kindle for Windows. What the heck is that all about?

I have been a pasta lover since I was a child. My mother is an amazing cook, and knows how to make pasta from scratch, and well, I did not. Feeling that I had too much free time during this quarantine, I had to try my hand at making one of the foods I love the most.
Carluccio’s book has made me fall even more in love with pasta, and the endless possibilities that dough can become. The book helps you approach pasta from start to finish, regardless of how much you know about it.
I have enjoyed reading the book, as it not only allows you to also step away from the many ideas that Carluccio has written down, but it also takes you down history lane and explores the subject of how pasta came to be, and the impact it had on the population.
I have had a blast with this book in and out of the kitchen, and I’m sure you will too. If you love food, and enjoy having good books about it around the house, this one is a fabulous addition to your collection.
Can’t wait to get my hands on some squid ink for some Nero pasta with some scrumptious seafood!

I bought this for my boyfriend to go with a pasta machine that i bought him for Christmas. It has excellent recipes as well as recipes for making different types of pasta. I would really recommend for beginner to the more experienced chef! 10/10

I enjoyed Carluccio’s book. His enthusiasm for food is self-evident, as is his knowledge and love of transmitting it. The recipes are good, approachable, and varied, and will, of course, brook some variation. Marvellous.
The Kindle version is, if not underwhelming, certainly not overwhelming. It’s essentially a picture book but without the picture book treatment that a comic book receives. As such, you’ll need to be patient with page-turning, and do a lot of zooming in. If you can put up with that, it’s good; otherwise, it might be worth getting a hard copy.

Bought as a secret santa for the office as the person concerned was receiving a pasta machine for Christmas, they advised the secret santa they were very impressed with the book and had already used the instructions and some of the recipes, due to the good reviews, we also purchased the book, and although we have not used it yet, we look forward to doing so.
