The book itself is good but it arrived with ink marks on the side

The book gives an excellent bigger picture to personal computing. Each chapter can be read alone or sequentially and doesn’t presume prior knowledge from the reader. Suitable for a beginner or as manual that can be dipped into as needed

This entire range of books are never disappointing, straitforward answers to question’s.

I know that previous reviews have commented on how dummed down this book is,but for a complete computer illiterate like me it’s perfect! every section stood alone by repeating previous info instead of giving a chapter ref. Anyone with some basic knowledge would find it a touch condesending, but hit just the right note for me. Only negative was the very american language, took a while to realise he was talking about a USBstick when he said thumb drive!!!

This book I have read from cover to cover to increase and check my knowledge base before i begin learning programming. It was a good read although most people will find reading it 90% basic knowledge you know already 10% Truly useful knowledge you wish you`d known before now’

I bought this for a relative who is less than competent with computers (seriously she thinks left click means use your left hand on the mouse)
already she now knows how to turn the PC on without phoning me for help!
THANK YTOU!!!
