Everyone who’s anyone wants to be seen at one of Emory Jackman’s legendary parties, from royalty to politicians, tech billionaires to Instagram models.
But something sinister is happening on Little Pearl. Journalist Sven Olsen has heard rumors about the Jackmans trafficking young girls, and a secret auction joined by the rich and famous. He’s been invited under the pretense of writing a profile about Emory and his mysterious wife, Tess, and will do just about anything to get the scoop.
The crew and staff are unaware, including young porter Gabe Zimmer, who falls for Clarissa Hurst, a stowaway looking for her long-lost twin sister. Security is hunting her, but when the two discover what’s in the crates heading to the island, they realize they’re in a lot more trouble than they think.
Because it’s not just parties, perverts or a prison cell awaiting them on Little Pearl. A creature lurks there, eager for his children to get their first taste of blood, and awaken him from his long slumber.
When they do, the payback will be legendary.

It’s difficult to discuss too many details about the story, for fear of giving away some interesting reveals – but safe to say, the title of Pedo Island Bloodbath makes it abundantly clear what you’re getting into, including associated triggers. While it isn’t quite splatterpunk, it goes to some dark places with graphic scenes of SA and violence throughout.
The novel is a quick, engrossing read, with the ease at which I devoured it belying the 400+ page length. There’s enough moments where the plot goes in an unexpected direction, or you learn of a major character’s motivations & history, to hold interest throughout.
If the idea of classic, slow-burn horror – interspersed with moments of intense brutality and writing that can make you incredibly uncomfortable – is something that you’re craving, then this is an easy book to recommend. The title and cover are about as subtle as a brick, and luckily Ralston’s ability to deliver an enthralling story more than does them justice.

I enjoyed the idea of the book, and the more we dived into vampires, the more i was hooked. I did gasp when abe came out as van helsing ???? Only reason it lost a star is i wanted just that little bit more on the splatterpunk side of it, it had its moments but i just wanted a little bit more gore. Other than that, if you like spooky, vampires, blood, and fiesty women, you’ll love this book!
