The story revolves around Peppa and the playgroup learning what a coronation is. It is not really anything to do with the coronation in real life, the book revolves around the playgroup each taking a turn at being a king of queen of the playgroup. The book has a good message and undertones of being a good monarch and person and everyone getting along.
It is beautifully drawn and the language is simple and easy to read. All the pages are bright and very colourful and with all the regular characters appearing. It is fun like everything Peppa Pig and there is not too much text and lots of pictures.
My daughter loves Peppa Pig but she has not quite had the same love for this story as others, I think maybe because it is a little less expansive and exciting. She has been enjoying me reading it to her though.
I do like how the first page has a cutout for a child to place a picture of themselves on the first page and just gives the book that interactive element.
It is a nice and bright book, really well drawn and told story but it’s maybe not the most exciting book, though the message behind it is good. My daughter just doesn’t seem to love it as other Peppa Pig books and it would have been nice to tie it more to the real coronation, it’s just really a passing reference.

We ordered this book just before the Kings coronation and the children found it really interesting. Would recommend.

Worth the money

Ordered this for my 4yo daughter who enjoys a Peppa story. This book is a tribute to the forthcoming “corry-nation”(!) of King Charles. The book briefly mentions an upcoming coronation but does not explicitly mention King Charles. The topic of the coronation is being covered by my childrens’ respective nursery and school and both of my kids are very excited about this historical event. As such, this book pays a very fitting tribute to the event of a coronation itself as Peppa becomes the Queen of the playgroup. There’s a lot of royal fun to be had!
This is a light-hearted adventure in typical Peppa Pig fashion, but there’s a nice little moral about equality and sharing. The book is the perfect length for a bedtime story and kept both of my children engaged. It did a good job of explaining the coronation and reiterating what they have been learning in nursery/school.
Overall, this is a lovely little book at an apt time. Whilst it doesn’t explicitly seem to celebrate or mention King Charles’ coronation, it remains a nice story in the Peppa Pig universe.

A really fun and topical story about Peppa being crowned queen of playschool. Great to be timed to align with the UK coronation. Pictures and words are great for little to follow.

This book is a favourite with Peppa Pig fans in our preschool . Read as part of our Coronation celebrations. It has bright illustrations but a bit of a loose story line.
