Basics not very detailed

Everything you need in this book even best way to learn how to play by ear. Very thick book packed with useful information.

Some of the book is quite useful but a lot is just filler. Like a lot of the dummies guides it’s a slow start and I really think claiming that there are 6 books in this is nonsense. Book 1 for example is how to choose a piano or keyboard and sit down (92 pages!)…I’m not sure anyone has ever bought a book for sitting at a piano and I know for a fact your local music shop will provide all this knowledge for free and without all the reading time. I won’t say the whole thing is pointless as there are some chapters which are useful for a beginner. Just be prepared to wade through a lot of rubbish and if you can play the piano at all look elsewhere as there are many better books to progress than this.

My music theory is relatively good but my hands together was rubbish. Within a week i had played several songs hands together, no Chopin but im getting there. This book is a godsend.

Comprehensive, easy to follow, very logical sequence of topics. Incredibly detailed throughout. Great buy for someone like me picking up playing keyboard in later stages of life!

Interesting read and quick delivery. The pictures, and music sheet are too small and the print could be slighly bigger, perhaps adjusting the layout slightly so it does not extand the number of pages.
