Poco Piano for Young Children Book Two: 2 (Poco Studio Edition)
£7.10
In Book 2 three new notes in each hand are mastered (up to High C and down to Low C) and the child experiences changes of hand position within a tune. Quavers are introduced in all the time signatures covered in Book 1. Sharps and flats are included, but no mention is made yet of keys, key signatures, scales or triads. Dynamic markings are now in Italian, while tempo indications are still in English. – See more at: http://alfreduk.fabermusic.com/Poco-Piano-for-Young-Children-Book-2-9834304838.aspx#sthash.OBl1PyUe.dpuf

It’s a well thought out book for beginners. Specifically young children. Using colours to help understand positional shifts and notes, I’ve found pupils are more responsive to this method than some of the others used in series such as Chester’s and Thompsons. They also use stickers to aid learning and as rewards. Recommended.

This book was recommended by my child’s tutor. My child finds it easy to use and follow the lesson (Which is over Skype these days) and also to practise by herself.

Great book for kids staring piano lessons

The book itself is very good, but the delivery time…oh….literally it took 2 months to come and this after I cancelled an order and placed another one.

This is the book used by my sons teacher, but it is great. Lots of stickers to keep young children interested and under the radar learning with versions of lots of classic pieces. They learn about composers without realising! Really impressed.

Required by piano teacher and it’s a good book

My little one is learning piano and these books are perfectly pitched for children who are beginning to learn to play. Recommended by the piano teacher, my child has progressed through book 1 and I’d onto book 2. They are bright, cheerful and easy to follow. I’ve been using them to brush up on my extremely rusty piano skills too!

Great scheme for young pupils. I’ve tried this out with several pupils now and they all love it – the stickers are a great plus. I have also found that combined with the theory books, the children do have a good grasp of the theory too. As with all schemes though, I do need to sometimes supplement these books with my own extra pieces when the children find moving onto the next step a bit too soon.
