This book is large format (although thin, more like a booklet). The images are simply breath-taking. It’s great to see large A4 versions of his drawings, especially the charcoals. I hadn’t realised until I saw them at this size just how emotional his portrait drawings are. Really stunning. Could look at this for hours. So glad I bought it!

Book quality could be better to do more justice to the drawings, but for the price I cannot complain. Sargent is Sargent and his work shines through. This is a great little book for some quick inspiration and enjoyment. Perfectly fine to do some little studies of as well.

I always admire charcoal drawing and Sargent Portrait drawings did not disappoint my expectations.

I bought the kindle version of this book and for the price it is a fabulous collection of Sargent’s portraits (in pencil and charcoal). Plenty of material here for the budding artist to study and develop their own portrait drawing skills. It’s not a tutorial book but an excellent collection of examples from one of the true masters!

I love all Sargent’s work and was purchasing this to study his sketches. The quality of the prints and artwork were not great. I decided to purchase a different version.

Love the energy in Sargent’s charcoal portrait sketches, something I hope to emulate in my own work.

Nice book and as described. Lots of nice portraits which are presented.

The poor quality of the prints, the thin flimsy book as a whole, just dont waste your time with this. Instead spend a bit more and get a decent book that you will want to keep and enjoy looking at! Unbelievable that it’s 2021 and people are still printing crap of this low standard.
