Good home study

Well explained. I didn’t like that the important text inside panels/tables couldn’t be made bigger on my kindle. Because a kindle screen is small it was very hard to read the most important parts of the book. If your near sight is poor you might do well to order a magnifying glass at the same time.

I have been learning Spanish on and off for over a year – I’ve done a short college course for beginners, a home course and spent well over 6 months on Duolingo and I still only know the very basics and still make so many silly mistakes.
I think this book of exercises are perfect for someone like me who has 12 months under their belt. Hopefully it’ll iron out all those mistakes I make!. It’s just what I need and a welcome alternative to looking at a screen shots on Duo all day, which can become very monotonous.
This is definitely not an absolute beginners book in my opinion. I think it would be way too much too soon. There are over a dozen tenses in this book to learn. But then, I’m an old duffer and the mind is not as quick as it used to be!
I think this is another very useful string to your bow in learning Spanish along with any other preferences you may have.
Even after a year I still can’t pick up what Spanish people say at their normal pace, for me it’s like getting hit by machine gun fire! But if I can speak it, read it and write it at an intermediary level then I’ll be happy, though I’m still a long way from that.
Hopefully this book will help to get me there.

This is an advanced beginner / intermediate book. If you can hold fluent conservations in Spanish without having to pause to think too much, you’re at the right level. This would be too hard for those new to the language as it assumes a certain decent level of vocabulary.
I’ve worked through the first 40 pages out of 300. Each section consists of explanatory material followed by “verdadero o falso (para ti)” – a series of questions you have to answer about yourself and your circumstances. Then, more involved exercises. Writing a simple but full sentence answers to several questions. The final exercise is a translation challenge with a particular focus on the material covered. Overall, challenging enough for advanced beginners / intermediate without being overwhelming. Feels satisfying to work through it. I will take a look at the other books in this series as it is of good quality.

This book contains just enough explanation and reminders for those who already have a grasp of spanish and just need reminding of the rules. It’s very useful to create sentences that are gramatically correct and a big help to those of us who could only remember how to speak in present tense only.
I wouldn’t necessarily recommend for beginners unless you are using it with a tutor that can explain everything in more detail.

Great book that has helped me improve my Spanish verbs so much- especially the present tenses and different verb forms, such as reflexive verbs. I like the translation exercises a lot as they help you build more basic vocab. However, I just wish that there were more exercises for the different past tenses as they can be a bit tricky.

I really like the practice makes perfect series. I have the complete Spanish grammar, intermediate grammar, Spanish vocabulary
,Spanish conversation and now this one. Am currently a weak B1 level so I like materials where I can practice and do exercises. My favourite was the Complete Spanish grammar book due to its variety of exercises and I enjoy doing the translating exercises but I think this one is my new favourite. I wouldn’t recommend this for complete beginners though. The ones written by Dorothy Richmond I find the best
