Age Gap. Ex Boyfriends Dad, and Kink.
Charlotte learns about her wants and needs, and goes after them even when she know it could lead to heart break but she goes forward anyway.
Emerson at first used Charlotte to try and get his son back in his life. But soon realises that things change and because he knows he’s older tries to fight what is really happening and what his feeling really are. Loved this book

This was an easy, fun read. It’s wasn’t particularly mind-blowing, and I didn’t hate it. It just felt a bit surface-levelly.

Branching out reading an age gap romance. I liked how the story was written and paced and the steamy scenes were hot. Will definitely read more in the series

I don’t know why I had this book in my TBR for so long after having seen the reviews but I’m sure glad I got my head in gear and read this book! Daaaaamn
I already knew I had a praise kink didn’t know I had an ex-boyfriend dad kink too!
The FMC Charlotte is coming out of a breakup with Beau who like most ex’s doesn’t see what he has when he has her.
She goes to his dad to collect a cheque after a mix up and he offers her a job as a ways to get his son back when he won’t speak to him over his new kink club opening up.
The MMC Emerson is all kinds of kink, holding and owning sexuality and embarrassing the good.
He doesn’t intend to fall for his sons ex but when he sees her and encourages her to be her true self what other option is there!
This book is high in drama, high in spice and high in owning what you like and not being shamed for it and that alone is 5⭐️!

I devoured this it just hit the right spot for me I adore age gap romances and this one had such a decadent kinky vibe that I really appreciated. It also had a bit of the forbidden being that she was his son’s ex-girlfriend but mostly it was the dynamic between Charlotte and Emerson that I just adored. Be aware this one has quite a large age difference twenty-one to forty and also some Kink vibes as well nothing OTT but during the course of this Charlotte evolves and blossoms.
After splitting with her boyfriend Charlie needs the deposit on their apartment back but it’s been sent to her ex’s dad who was the co-signer. Needing the money Charlotte approaches Emerson and he instantly mistakes her for someone else causing a whole lot of I wish the floor would swallow me up when he realises just who she actually is.
Emerson is part owner of the Salacious players club initially working in the event industry he and his friends decided to branch out into a dating service that matches like-minded people with their kinks. The club is the pinnacle of their objective a safe place to explore mutual intimacies. Emerson is currently estranged from his son who doesn’t approve of his father’s lifestyle thinking him a deviant and perverted.
In an effort to attempt to reconnect with him Emerson decides to hire Charlotte as his secretary hoping it will bring his son back into his life. The usual girls he hires are less secretary and more sub but that isn’t what he expects from Charlotte but now he can’t seem to get her off of his mind finding himself craving her in a way he didn’t expect and the longer he spends in her company the more perfect for him she seems.
This was relatively slow burn the sizzling tension and attraction ramped up so you could feel the crackling intensity and repressed desires. It’s quite apparent these two want nothing more than to indulge in all of their mutual urges together but Charlotte’s ex is now the roadblock that stands in their way. Mostly because of Emerson and his desire for a relationship with his son. This was probably my only complaint here I felt Emerson places far too much importance on his son’s feelings. The man was a grown-up and treated his dad abysmally he also wasn’t the best boyfriend constantly belittling Charlotte and he even cheated on her and then provided lame excuses I just didn’t think he deserved the consideration he got he wasn’t exactly a child and Charlotte had ended things before she even met Emerson. Though I did understand Emerson’s desire for his son back in his life so got why he thought the way he did.
The intimate scenes between these two were red-hot and the chemistry and heat incredible. I adored the praise kink and found it to be the best I’ve experienced to date in a romance novel. I loved how Emerson tried to encourage Charlotte to see her own worth even though I despaired at his flawed reasoning when it came to his son. I mean he was willing to give up a future with someone he loved and adored and was perfect for him in order to appease his son. I felt for Charlotte in this as you could see her wheels turning she just wanted him to acknowledge her right to her own happiness. I also appreciated the LGBTQ inclusion I have a family member going through a similar journey and think it was handled sensitively and also found it relatable.
This was a great read and I’m definitely going to dive into book two next. The writing here was an easy fit and this was well written. I definitely recommend reading this it exceeded my expectations by a mile.

So the basic scenario – girl and boy break up, girl wants deposit back from house, boy says it’s gone to his dad so she needs to see him, girl goes to dad who makes her get on her knees thinking she was ‘special help’, girl is confused, dad is confused. Skip forward and now she works as his secretary for his super exclusive sex club, the Salacious Players Club.
I loved Charlie and Emerson’s relationship, the flirty back and forth banter between them was just so nice to read and I never felt like there was an age difference between them, it’s my first ex’s dad read and I thought that might make me feel a bit weird but I loved them both together. Emerson only ever protected Charlie in the way a lover protects what’s theirs and oh was Charlotte his alright.
I loved the chapters changing between ‘Charlie’ and ‘Charlotte’ depending which version of herself she was being even though they were two sides of the same coin. I loved watching her discover her sexy, confident side and exploring her horizons with gentle encouragement from Emerson.
Obviously the context of this book suggests that the spice should be good, and that it definitely is. All the scenes in the club are so good, I loved the auction with Emerson’s whole caveman routine when someone tries to buy his woman’s time so he flings her over his shoulder and takes her somewhere private to punish her for saying she was anything less than perfect.
I first-bumped so hard with that scene with Charlie’s dad and Emerson came raging in like a bull in a China shop and when he started being rude to Emerson, Beau came steaming in to defend his dad, I was so happy that even through this whole dad-is-in-love-with-my-ex-girlfriend he’s going to defend his dad always.
The epilogue with the Underwood ladies and the Grant boys warmed my heart, I really do hope they’re a happy little unconventional dysfunctional family. Always listen to rule #4.

Loves how this book turned out. I do hope the next book has the included somehow still.
