I’m sure that if I would just take the time to sit and read this book I would possibly find it useful. Honestly, after giving it a cursury flick through seeing it was quite pale small print, had unappealing black and white pics, I lost interest and just put it to one side. I wasn’t expecting a high spec book, it is under a tenner, but better no pics than tiny grey ones. I might revisit it on a cold, grey winter afternoon if I’ve exhausted my other gardening books but I suspect it will be consigned to the charity shop box. Could be I’ll be missing out on a very informative book but at present it isn’t enticing me to find out.

Whilst this book does contain useful information I am a little disappointed. It is very thin and doesn’t feel seem to be a professionally printed book. I would have liked the pictures in colour given that the front cover is colour. It seems to me to be a Kindle book that has been printed and I think as a Kindle book it works really well. At the time of writing this review it is available on Kindle for 99p, the amount and style of information is very much in line with other 99p Kindle books and I now wish I had bought it in that format. The print version does include the Kindle version for free which is a bonus but I feel that makes the print version redundant.

I’ve given the product 4 stars because even though I am a little disappointed as it was not expensive and it is well written, and will be useful to me. I think my expectations were maybe a little too high, if you understand that this is really a 99p Kindle book, but you’re paying the extra for printing costs, you can make the decision whether you want to pay more to have a physical copy.

This book has been an absolute godsend. It now lives in my shed where I refer to it regularly.
It has all you need to know about raised bed gardening. The most useful section has been the table showing you how many of each vegetable you can grow in a square foot. For a total novice, this is really valuable information. I’m using the spare pages at the back to plan out my beds. Already had one crop of radish. I’ve managed to get a good batch of peas, strawberries, lettuce, chard, and beetroot all on the go, thanks to the advice in this book.
Will be recommending it to my fellow green fingered newbies!

I am so glad that I bought this book.. It saved me making a lot of expensive mistakes in both the choice of materials that I had intended to buy to build my raised beds out of and the size of the raised beds . It also explained clearly and simply why certain crops should not be grown in a raised bed . This is a small book but it is filled with facts that someone new to this type of gardening needs to know.. The only “improvement” I can think of ,would be the replacement of the black and white photos with colour ones.. I thoroughly recommend this book.
