Really like this book – the versions strongly resemble the originals. Not too hard not too easy. And a really nice selection of pieces across genre.

The content is quite good but I do wish music publishers would spend an extra couple of quid on wire binding. If you have the music on a stand the only way it is really usable is by breaking the spine. I would pay a little extra for that convenience.

IMOP this is a good book but the technicality is placed somewhere between beginner and intermediate, so not really for the absolute beginner, unless they are very good at sight reading of course!
I would place my own ability somewhere in the middle between beginner and intermediate and can only play about 32 of these tunes (slowly!) on sight reading and would need loads of practice to even get them all down properly!
Unless you are very talented and can transpose from different keys easily you will struggle with the whole of this book but the good news is that it provides a good challenge for us amateurs to learn!

Enjoying it. Need to get myself sorted with the beats. Able to sit and figure this out. Not a beginner but not intermediate. Good book to get back into it for

These songs were perfect for my 10 year old daughter who wanted to play something other than the exercises in her piano lesson books. The songs are easily recognisable once she starts playing them and sound good. I’ve knocked one star off because they’re not the complete songs, just two pages of sheet music per song (although I guess that would have made the book very long and therefore expensive).

My 7 year old has loved this book because it has opened up a whole new world of music to him beyond exam books which he wasn’t previously aware of. He’ll sit down and play music just for the love of it, and that’s a great thing to see. It’s also secretly helping him with his sight reading. However, often the original tunes are not quite correct, or the rhythms changed – not making them any easier to play, just making them wrong. Often the songs are cut short too. I see no need to do any of that. In most cases, the melodies could have been made 100% accurate while still providing music that is easy and fun to play. When someone buys a book of popular songs, they expect the songs to be complete and the way that they remember them. For this reason, I can’t really give this book more than 3 stars.

I bought this to use with my accordion. It’s good and simple with guitar chords which are very useful, however most of the tunes are on one page only which seemed a bit minimal.

My student is happy and loves playing Abba!
