No nonsense, Go To Recipe Book with enjoyable, practical recipes that people can actually cook up in their kitchens with minimum fuss and without the need for exotic paraphernalia and outlandish ingredients. Have been following the author’s recipes online but it is much easier and better to have be able to thumb throughall the recipes in the book at leisure. Some common sense modification for some recipes can be applied to adjust for dietary requirements. Plan to buy more copies for Xmas gifts.

The recipes I’ve tried so far (8) have all been amazing. I love the detail that’s provided so that it’s always clear what you should do and for how long. The video links provided on YouTube help a lot too. This is a great way to learn new dishes and use different ingredients. I’ve never used one cookbook for so many recipes.

First of all I want to say, this is a fabulous book, great inspiration, instructions and a photo for every dish, which is great (i think, or almost every dish) and a QR code to scan and link to a video of the recipe being made. Great use if modern tech, but it comes at a price I suspect…
The problem I have is with the Kindle formatting. I have had many cook books on kindle as I live in a country that does not have its own amazon and it is expensive for p&p, so I buy kindle books. This version for kindle has positives, when you stand the page portrait it reads like a book, recipe one page full page phot the next. Great.
But the negatives are that the kindle format does not give the facility to bookmark pages, does not give a search facility, does not give a menu page find option, does not give the multipage option, all of which I find really useful for cookery books as obviously I use them month in, month out for cooking from! So in order to find the mushroom lasagne’ recipe, I had to either: scroll through the book page by page; fast forward to the back of the book to consult the non digitised index, then find the page with the page search, which found the page 3 pages before the number I out in; or find the front chapter page (manually) and then jump to the chapter and scroll through the chapter, of which the recipe may not be in. Where I would normally just search mushroom lasagne, select from the search bar and jump straight to it. Finally, I assume due to the book’s formatted size it is slow going.
I am in two minds to return the kindle version and wait until I can buy the paper version in a bookshop when I next visit the Uk. And what is more the price of the kindle versions now are not far short of a ‘real’ book!
I am very disappointed as in this day and age this type of technology should be second to none. And Amazon should make sure that book’s display correctly and well as they are the market leader in Digital books. Oh, Amazon, this does not mean remove other features i. The book or photos, it means, move with the times!
So Book gets 5*, kindle gets 1*

Liked the suggestions for subbing ingredients. Recipes use a wide range of ingredients. An excellent book if you like to experiment

arrived yesterday – I hadn’t heard of the chef before but I saw the book on Jamie Olivers BOOKCLUB on facebook and it was receiving rave reviews, so i gave in and bought it. a large soft back book, the photography is beautiful and tells a story not only of the recipes but of her life and her beautiful dog. Recipes are clear with wonderful instructions and added info on certain ingredients and also a QR code so you can actually watch her make the recipe. I did CASHEW NUT CHICKEN and it was wonderful, minimal ingredients and no fuss, super tasty. Cant wait to delve in deeper and try more, I think it will be one of my books I use very often… thank you.

I have hundreds of cookbooks and like most people I usually only cook a handful of recipes from each one. After many years this may be the book that I will cook every recipe. So far each recipe has been delicious and so precisely explained. For example, I have never encountered exactly how much salt and pepper to add to a recipe. Brilliantly practical with substitute ingredient suggestions., technique tips and advice on storage and freezing. I am in love with this book. Hopefully there will be many more.
