This is the second book by Martin Jenkins and Charles Roberts, about transport in the Isle of Man. The first volume covered the railway network, where as this new volume covers all other forms, road, rail, sea and air operations. The book is illustrated, using previously unpublished rare early colour pictures, from the Online Transport Archive, which holds over a million transport images. Both the authors have managed to collect together some truly interesting and often stunning pictures, from a period when colour coverage of transport subjects was almost non existent.

Excellent book. Bought as a present for someone who loves the lsle of Man and who had already read the previous Isle of Man Transport book. He really enjoyed both books and would recommend them.

Having enjoyed the earlier book I was looking forward to this second book. I wasn’t dissapointed, there are some fascinating photos, only let down by the quality of printing in a few cases.

Well written and packed with evocative photographs from the days when the beautiful Mona’s Isle was a tourist Mecca. For anyone who loves transport in the Isle of Man and who doesn’t possess a time machine, this is a good alternative.
Many excellent, well composed colour photographs of the planes, trams, buses and coaches of the island. The steam (IMR) Railway and steam packet are dealt with in the earlier volume, and this book concentrates on the horse trams, Manx Electric and associated lines.
