Superb little book for anyone with an interest in successful garden vegetable growing. I use this book when I’m shopping for seed packets (online or in garden centre) to make sure I purchase the best RHS verified seeds. Recommended.

I gave away all my gardening books and tools when I moved into a flat 6 years ago but having moved into a house I want to grow again. Dr Hessayon books seem to be out of print. The vegetable one was great. The RHS Grow Fruit and Veg book is very disappointing. I’m growing French beans but the book doesn’t say how far apart they should be in the rows or how far between rows. This information is given for some but not all vegetables so I would not recommend this book for beginners or seasoned growers. Try to get a second hand Hessayon book!
