My son loves this book

I teach Trinity and Rockschool and my students will normally eventually prefer doing classical grades with Trinity rather than RSL even if they preferred rock because there is no smooth progression with RSL at all. Some grade 4 pieces are around grade 6 level. A lot of grade 1 pieces are also too hard. Wish they had a better progression in their repertoire.

As with all Rock School grade books, this one comes with clear printed presentation of the songs and good online support – all songs available to download as pure backing tracks or with guitar (or with vocals in some cases).

Very good selection of tunes and technical exercises. Backing tracks are downloadable and you will need them if you are going to use this book to enter the Rock School exam.
It is very expensive, prohibitively so for some students who want to do Rock School exams but cannot afford to.

Buying these grade books always makes me wince as I know they’ll be used for a short time to get my son through his exam and then left on a shelf. Pricey but serves its purpose.
