For my son who’s interested in joining the Royal navy. The jury’s out but looks good

very good

Very useful and easy to understand, but as published in 2003, it is now slightly out of date. The defence projects of the future are now the present and the technology has evolved so much that the book cannot be relied on for technical specs which unfortunately was why I wanted it.

A good book which shows how much and how quickly the RN has shrunk.

I bought this book for my son who is in the process of applying to join as a Naval Officer.
He has found it very informative despite it being slightly out of date, and is using it to
increase his knowledge of the Fleet which he is required for his application.

The publication is excellent in every way.I was a Naval Architect by profession, and it brought back many memories.
Prompt and excellent service.

Whilst preparing for my RN sift interview and AIB I meticulously cross referenced the RN website and Wikipedia to make information sheets for each and every ship in service. After getting this book I almost wish I didn’t waste the time as it lists everything you need to know about all current ships in an easy to read layout. This book will probably go “out of date” in about 10 years, the Queen Elizabeth aircraft carriers being built and type 45 destroyers already in service are listed as “future ships” in the book and only go into brief detail in their regard due to lack of information at the time. Still, 5 stars. Very Helpful.
