Great sales leaders are all good coaches, it’s not always obvious though, because coaching isn’t something that has to be scheduled and set up as a formal “coaching session” in the calendar. Coaching is how you approach conversations with your team, 121s, deal reviews, team meetings, pipeline calls etc. Marks book covers this in a really well laid out and easy to digest format, he includes example questions to use, insights into real coaching conversations and invites you to come up with your own ideas and next steps. This is a must read for existing sales leaders and also those aspiring to be one.

Thumbs up from me and my team. Part 1 makes sales coaching understandable for the newbie. Part 2 deals with using it every day. Part 3 has given me fantastic ideas on how to get my team unstuck. Enabling your team to think for themselves is the secret to being a great sales manager. Get this book and get results from your people.

This is the best book on sales coaching out there.

Mark Garrett Hayes has done an exceptional job of showing sales leaders how to coach, and provides practical, actionable advice to everyone, from new managers who have never coached before to the most experienced managers who have been coaching for years.

He shows how you don’t need to be a coaching expert to start incorporating a coaching style into conversations with your team.

This is a must-read for anyone leading a team of sales people. I highly recommend it.

Sales book of the year! In my role selling training, I read a lot of industry articles and books and I especially like how well organised and easy to use this book is.
You don’t get the feeling that you’re being talked down to. Instead, this book holds you by the hand. You get enough info to understand, learn and then apply. Then lots of brilliant coaching questions to use it fast. I especially love tools like the ‘quick-start guide’ and coaching plans.

No one has broken down sales coaching for me like this book has. I can actually use it and my team can too. It’s changing how I lead my sales team. Taking stuff off my plate and putting it on someone else’s where it belongs. Highly recommended.

We’ve seen a boost in productivity from our sales floor as we’ve put Sales Coaching Essentials into practice. The book is easy to put into practice and anyone can read it. 11 managers. 11 copies. Best money I’ve invested in a long time.

What I love about this book is its readability. Clear headings, actionable bullet points, easy to follow and lists of great questions I can ask my sales team. I’ve made copious notes and the author gives you plenty of space to make your own. As one of the other reviewers suggests, you will find yourself making ‘dog ears’ so you can go back and dive in again. It’s that good.
