saving Rugby Union is an an excellent book which describes in detail many of the problems being faced by Rugby Union in England especially. It is rightly very critical of the RFU, the games governing body and sets out very clearly what changes need to be made to halt the drift downwards in the numbers of male adult players who play the sport each weekend. The structure of the Twickenham “leadership” comes in for severe criticism .

A thoughtful analysis of the problems that are so obvious in the game of rugby union and a few suggestions to improve the game and make it less dangerous for players.

Some interesting and well argued views, but could have been written in half the number of words. A lot of repetition of previously covered points in most of the chapters.
