Dirty dancing leads to a chance at forever in this sizzling single parent, found family, small town romance by Jessica Peterson.

As a recently divorced single mom, I have zero interest in flirting with guys while on a rare girls’ weekend away with my sisters. I just want to have fun, celebrate my new job, and listen to live music at a honky tonk.

But when I literally stumble into the most gorgeous guy ever on the dance floor, those plans go up in smoke. Growing up on the barrel racing circuit, I’ve seen my fair share of sexy cowboys. But this particular one is hot as hell: Sawyer’s got a mustache, tattoos, and a very filthy mouth.

Needless to say, we end up naked in his swanky hotel room. It’s the best sex of my life. And the way Sawyer treats me like a queen? A girl could get used to that kind of adoration.

Good thing he’ll only be a one-night stand I can look back on with a smile. I’m rebuilding my life from scratch, and I need to focus on my three-year-old daughter and the dream job I just landed.

Imagine my surprise, then, when I move to Hartsville and run into a tattooed cowboy with an adorable daughter of his own. Now, Sawyer wants more than the occasional playdates between our girls. But the closer we become, the more determined this sexy single dad is to keep me forever.

As much as I’m falling for Sawyer, I’m terrified. I’ve been down this road before with my ex, and I wonder if I can trust this cowboy. Will he rope the moon for me? Or is my heart destined to be trampled all over again?

SAWYER is a standalone book in the interconnected Lucky River Ranch Series.

It’s not often that I see a double single-parent romance and I enjoyed it! Sawyer was so swoony and the perfect partner for Ava. I loved seeing their relationship evolve during this story. It was funny, sweet, and steamy; perfect if you enjoy cowboy romance, small town, single parents and spice!!

Jessica Peterson just knows how to write sexy AND thoughtful cowboys!!

I love the single parent trope and reading about two single parents coming together with their girls was just so adorable and heartwarming. I loved Junie and Yella’s relationship and how they interacted.

This book was super fast-paced and bingeable, with plenty of spice!

Also love how emotionally mature and self aware Sawyer and Ava were.

Didn’t really love the insta-love element and how much spice the book had in relation to the plot overall – this felt a lot like quantity over quality in a way the other books in the series didn’t have that. Not my favourite in the series but definitely a fun time!

    Sawyer
    Lucky River Ranch #3
    By Jessica Peterson

There’s an old saying, “Good Things come in Three’s!” Well I am here to tell you damn straight good things come in threes! Sawyer, Ava and book 3 of the Lucky River Ranch Series!! All those good things make up the three good things making this the chef’s kiss of books.

The middle of five brothers, the caretaker of his family, the single dad who is running on low speed….found everything he thought he would need in his one night stand! Ava…..she was beautiful, she said all the things he wanted to hear, she gave as good as she got and OH BOY did she get all the good Sawyer had to give!

I mean a one night stand that is sooooo steamy you need to wear gloves and and have a fan, because the spice and the heat was OFF THE CHARTS! The not so good part was daytime came, he only knew her name was Ava and she walked away! If you asked Sawyer he’d tell you the two good things in his life at that moment were is darling three year old Ella and the one night stand that opened his eyes to what he had been missing the past few years!

Ava Barlett, single mom of three year old Junie, retired barrel racing star, new to Hartsville and she’s about to find out the man she walked out on three months ago, is not in Austin but just a hop and a skip from the Wallace ranch, where she is now working. This is kismet, this is the stars alinging, the universe bringing two people together. Right???

Both Sawyer and Ava become “friends”, the little princesses go to the same school, everyone at Lucky River Ranch thinks they are perfect for each other; but there is an issue or two. Sawyer doesn’t seem to know when to ask for help and Ava carries a lot of baggage from her ex-husband. Are the stars, the kismet the universe ready to help these two along?

Maybe!!!! But it’s going to mean there is a lot of work to be done and a lot of hurt to deal with.

Seriously, this book, these characters, their story line, just the best! I read this book in one sitting. I couldn’t put it down….I loved the family support, those two adorabe three year olds, but mostly I loved the relationship between Sawyer and Ava. Like I said “total Chef’s Kiss” Author Jennifer Peterson outdid herself with this book, these characters and opened a bit of a door on the newt Rivers brother and who is lady is.

I will forever be a Jessica Peterson STAN. These cowboys are so swelting HOTT. I was NOT PREPARED for the mouth on this man. Hoo boy, single Daddy Sawyer can GET.IT. Another mustache for the win. Something is in the water in Hartsville, they just don’t make them like that anywhere else.

This follows single parents Ava and Sawyer, who meet up at a honky tonk in Austin and have an insanely hot night together. They don’t swap numbers or last names, going their separate ways. They then run into each other a few months later at a freaking barn raising, after Ava has started a new job at a neighbouring farm as the trainer. They waste no time at all picking up where they left off. This book is insanely hot.

I really loved the way this book portrayed parenting, especially single parenting and just how hard it is. Even with people there to help. As someone who was raised by a single parent, I feel like Jessica did such an amazing job showcasing all the logistics and thoughts that go into raising a child alone and the sacrifices people as parents have to make. Parenting, even with a partner, isn’t easy and it isn’t glamourous. This book was such a breath of fresh air in its portrayal of parenting.

I loved the relationship that developed between Sawyer and Ava. They have insane chemistry from the get go and even once they find each other months after their hot night together, it’s like no time has passed. They find a friend in each other and a confidant in single parenting. They are truly themselves with each other and are so supportive. Ava especially has a hard time letting go and just enjoying herself with Sawyer and trusting in him and the fact that he isn’t anything like her ex, doesn’t want to change her or have her be anyone else except herself. Sawyer finally lets someone in and allows another person to help him.

All that said, there was just a little something off to me, I immensely enjoyed this book and highly recommend it. I feel like I just connected more and was more invested in the characters and their arcs in Cash and Wyatt. But this is a solid 4-4.5 star read for me. Jessica Peterson knows her way around cowboys and I can’t wait for Duke and Ryder’s stories to come out!

the banter, the flirting, the emotions, the CHEMISTRY 🔥

I am in love with Hartsville, Texas, the Rivers Boys, and Lucky River Ranch and this newest installment is my favorite (I love them all so it is a tough choice)

I love how Jessica Peterson has written each brother their own unique story—each brother has different scars from their childhood and it shows up in different ways for their relationships.

Sawyer is my favorite—the one-night-stand turned parent-friends, turned soulmates is delivered immaculately. The banter between them is so fun and flirty—one of my favorite types of relationships to see in books! Ava is wild, adventurous, hilarious, and cannot be tamed. She truly brings out the best in Sawyer who needs a little more silliness in his life sometimes. The way these two love each other is inspiring and everything good in the world. I love how Ava showed (with actions, not words) Sawyer that it’s okay to ask for help and lean on family and his support system. Sawyer is a classic middle child caretaker and I really related to him so seeing the support show up for him in all ways was beautiful!

Little Junie and Ella are adorable together and I loved to see Ava and Sawyer develop relationships with each other’s kids. And even though being a parent is essential to who they are, I loved that Ava and Sawyer got to develop their relationship independent of their kids too—I love seeing them make their relationship a priority and go on fun dates together!

There is something swoony about a hot single Dad Cowboy, and is exactly who Sawyer is in the third Lucky River Ranch book. After a steamy one night with Ava, he is surprised to find that she is the new barrel racing trainer at a neighbouring farm. Recently divorced single mum Ava is reluctant to get in a relationship but cannot deny the pull she feels towards Sawyer.
These two and their absolutely adorable daughters make the perfect little family.
A five star read! I highly recommend.

Damn!! This Rivers brothers just keep getting better and better. Now I loved cash, and I loved Wyatt but…..sawyer wow!

This book was adorable I mean single dad, single mum, two adorable little girls, I mean that’s just found family vibes right there and it was written perfect.

Now sawyer and Ava… the connection, the chemistry between the two was amazing. I loved it. They were both such great characters on their own, but together they were everything.

The one thing about this that I loved was how open and honest the characters are, cowboys who aren’t afraid to show their true emotions….no words could describe that apart from WOW!!! ❤️ 🥹

All around a amazing story, great little solid story and plot and fantastic characters! I’m beyond excited to read Duke’s story next.

Sawyer and Ava have stolen my heart and I am not mad about it! This book was just a little slice of heaven from beginning to end.. from their meet cute in Austin which leads to an epic one night stand, (holy hell that was some great spice all up in the first 20%🤭)to them bumping into each other again in Hartsville, it was all perfection! Sawyer filthy mouth and Ava’s banger lit me up like a Christmas tree it was so good!

These two are simply the cutest pair of single parents anyone could wish for.. Sawyer- always caring and looking after everyone else and putting his needs aside to ensure everyone is looked after.. and Ava, she’s rediscovering herself after being told to be less of who she really is by her former husband.

Ava and Sawyer have so much in common, they just want someone to share the load with, someone to care how their day was and ask if they are ok. They find common ground with their daughters ( who by the way are the cutest pair alive) and lean on each other whilst finding this fast, deep connection which turns to deep love and affection very quickly.

Sawyer isn’t afraid to tell Ava what he wants or wear his heart on his sleeve, he sheds a tear multiple times which was so lovely to read- men showing their feelings and being open and honest in conversations..
and Ava, sweet, sassy Ava- she knows what she wants and doesn’t hold back asking for it, despite her worries of being stifled again by another man, Sawyer proves he wants to be free and wild with her.

The vulnerable conversations, the banter from the rest of the Rivers brothers and there respective others and the cutest two little girls in June and Ella make this hands now another banging 5 star read from Jessica as always.

Now… if you’ll excuse me.. I’ll be entering a why choose situation with Wyatt and Sawyer from here on out. Yeah? ✌🏼🤣
