£3.80
Xander is a storm of contradictions, a shadow lurking in the corners of a world he doesn’t quite belong to. Broken and depraved, he thrives on pushing boundaries, testing limits, and taking risks that could cost him everything. His scholarship dangles by a thread, his moral compass spinning in chaotic directions. This semester is his last shot at redemption, a final chance to escape the downward spiral that threatens to consume him.
Enter Cameron, the embodiment of innocence in a place stained with privilege and secrets. Fresh out of the closet and wide-eyed with hope, he wears his heart on his sleeve and believes he can mend even the most shattered souls. As the son of the college president, he’s embraced by the ivory towers that Xander teeters on the edge of, and he’s determined to prove that love can bridge any gap.
Forced together thanks to the random dorm lottery, Xander and Cameron find themselves sharing a space that becomes both refuge and battleground.
In a world where their love is forbidden, where redemption seems elusive, can Cameron’s trust and hope heal the fractures in Xander’s soul?

This book doesn’t beat around the bush, straight away Xander’s opening chapter is open and honest about his character and how he is on his last chance of keeping his scholarship; which is his ticket to freedom. He is subsequently a bit of a mess: depressed, bored and doesn’t have any self worth. He knows he is a computer coding prodigy but with all of his new rules and restrictions he needs more.
Cameron is his new roommate and is sunshine to Xander’s cloud. He has gotten under his skin, and he doesn’t know why: this is a bi-awakening story. We see Xander’s facets with Cameron’s help and see him in a much better light than Xander sees himself. There is angst from several sources and an underlying feeling that Xander isn’t aware of how much he has been used by people who should know better. It adds a melancholy narrative along with the rain cloud permanently following him around. The contrast of Cameron’s pureness is the only one who can burn the rain clouds. Xander feels a different person, almost giving himself the credit it deserves. Xander turns out to be quite a sweetheart and the intimate scenes were really well written with steam and heat. Their relationship was quick to start but felt totally believable, rooting for them throughout. We are left with a very HFN ending but we were gifted with a bonus chapter that gave us the HEA we knew they would reach. This book just caught me and that’s why it’s a 5 star rating from me. I’m not sure how I haven’t come across this author before, I now have a lot of catching up to do. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

This is a new to me author, and I’m so glad I read this story, I really enjoyed it and liked Cam and Xander together, this is a bi-awakening, first times, hurt/comfort, college roommate’s to friends to lovers story. This story is well worth a read and I will definitely be reading more from this author.

I’ve never read MM before (I’m a straight female) but gave it a go after having reading plenty of MMF over the years. Thought it would be weird but it’s a love story and sexy. Honestly better than most books I’ve read. I loved the characters, easy read.

Firstly let me say I got this book from Gay Romance Reviews and this is me leaving my honest review.
Wow I totally got lost in their story
This is about Xander and Cameron.
Xander has be in therapy due to past behaviour at the college but he was so ready to get back there. He is on probation so he has to keep his nose clean or they will get rid of him. He finds out that he has a new room mate who is a chatterbox. His name is Cameron and he is different from any other man he knows. He found him cute which shocked Xander as he has never found a man to be good looking or cute. But Xander thinks he is too good for him anyway but it seems like Cameron has other ideas. Oh did I forget to mention the Cameron is the son of the new College President.
I really liked Cameron and I’m so glad he doesn’t judge a book by it’s cover. He gets to see the real Xander that he keeps hidden from everyone else. Their story is just amazing it was great to read a new storyline. And let me tell you the passion they share is off the charts it’s like they come alive when they are together. And their connection is unbreakable.
This is a new author for me but I’m excited to read more!!

I’ve read all of Billie’s previous MM books and loved them. I found this a bit hard to get into at first but that could have just been me because it did get easier.
This is a strange book because there is so much going on that’s completely unbelievable. The horrendous treatment of Xander by the college just wouldn’t happen, Cam’s father’s attitude towards Xander isn’t borne out by what we’ve seen of him, the Dean’s manipulation of Zander, no consequences for any of the others involved in the incident that saw Xander take all the blame, all of these are ridiculous and annoying.
Xander’s history was very sad and I wanted to wrap him up in a hug. He was incredibly hard on himself and I was glad Cam saw the good in him. I loved how he tried to distance himself from Cam because he didn’t want to drag Cam down with him.
I liked Cam and Xander both as characters and as a couple, and I liked their HEA, but everyone and everything else? Not so much.

A brilliant roommates to lovers read that has plenty of angst but is still so sweet. Xander has a horrible past that is a mix of his mistakes and some he didn’t have any control over. Cameron is the ray of sunshine and sees the good in Xander. An emotive storyline that shows how they grew as people and their love for one another.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
