I was disappointed with the information in book. Not only is it poorly written, but it’s basically just the author writing a diary of what she did and what she found. There’s very little historical information.
I expected more for the price, on the positive side, the book is very nicely illustrated.

For jewellery makers or beach combers this is a little gem of a book. Informative with charming illustrations and plenty of photos and directions.
Love the coast up there and this is a lovely guide to have at hand for exploring.

Full of interesting information for each of the beaches around Seaham which can be visited with the aim of searching for, and collecting, sea glass. Each beach has a description and also shows the author’s collection from when they visited and the length of time she was collecting which gives readers an indication of what success they might have when searching each of the beaches.
I would have loved more information on the history of the area, but it’s an interesting little book for anyone planning to visit the local beaches to go sea glass hunting.
