This book is a real must, bought audio and digital version, I havent read a sales book for many years and only really liked Richard Dennys style of theory and writing, Alison just has such a great experience which demonstrates in the simple examples and ideas to change or fine tune your sales process.

Amazing book, and with Audio listened to in small chunks each day, referring back to pages on my ipad.

Just an amazing sales formula, written from someone that understands sales and customer service.

I read my first copy and gave it away to a business friend so had to buy another one!
Really loved the practical steps that Alison recommends to take so that any business owner can apply to any business and increase their sales effectiveness.
In common with many people, I hate pushy sales; so to be able to learn techniques that can be applied in line with my personal style of conducting business has been very valuable. Love the personal insights as well as the theory – made the read very engaging.

As a sales person, and sales trainer I get to read so many books on sales, most are just recycled information, there are very few gems. Alison’s book is something special. The four pillar methodology makes perfect sense, breaking the process into effective and applicable stages. For those who are new to sales, the techniques helps make selling achieveable and easy, for those like me who have been selling for years, well we can all learn a thing or two in this little pink book. This book will definately be on my recommended this for delegates of my sales training, and it forms part of my recommeded top sales books for the year on my website serialtrainer.com . Just buy it!

This book is written in an easy to understand manner which makes it easy to read and develop sales strategies to support your business. It is honest and constructive – often demystifying the myths around sales that many people have. I particularly like the use of DISC as a method to help understand the people you are dealing that will enable you to be more successful. I have used DISC a lot over the years but the context has been around how people like to manage or be managed so I am aware of how it works and how it creates awareness of behaviours. So applying this to sales has been a light bulb moment for me as I know tailor my approach accordingly. Alison is highly skilled and knowledgeable in sales but she also has a passion to help SME businesses. So I would highly recommend this book – I refer to it constantly when I am pondering …. what would Alison do?!

I will be keeping this book close to me. It mixes personal stories, specific recommendations and examples, templates – the works. This book offers genuine & tangible insights. Unlike many it covers the sales journey from start to finish and adds a little bit more. It gives some theory but it’s really so hands on. No guessing, no acronyms, no hot air. And Alison is honest. She opens up about herself and is not afraid to divulge her successes and her mistakes. If you’re looking for practical advice – buy this. If you’re looking for inspiration – buy this. If you’re looking for a classic – buy this

I have been a bit remiss in not mentioning this book by Alison Edgar FISM -“The Entrepreneur’s Godmother”. Alison is one of the UK’s leading business advisors and this book is a stoater. What on earth does that title mean? Well, it’s Scottish slang – Collins Dictionary says it means ‘Excellent, fantastic, wonderful’. I loved reading it. It is based around Alison’s four pillars for success in sales – Behaviours, Process, Strategy and Confidence. As a fellow author, I recognise a powerful book – this is one of those rare beasts. Get it and enjoy! Jim Irving

As someone that has only recently stepped into the world of sales I honestly didnt know which way to turn! I have a strong marketing background over many years but needed solid advice and knowledge to draw upon in my new role as company sales and marketing manager! I had seen Alison’s book mentioned by many of my contacts and even after reading the reviews I wasnt sure if this was the answer for me however I was extremely pleasantly surprised when I received the book.
It is easy to digest and I managed to read it first time (read it more than once already) in only a couple of sittings! I still have a lot to learn but this is now my go to reference and I have already started to make changes now just to my methods but that of my team too with results to show! Many thanks Alison for developing such a different sales book and one that is approachable for all levels!

When it comes to business books it needs to be interesting and relatable for it to capture and hold my interest and concentration and this book really did that for me! It’s not too thick and set out into 4 sections so it’s easy to read through in a few days.

I found all the content interesting, inspiring and really easy to read and digest. I particularly loved the section on the character behaviours and whether people come under a red, yellow, green or blue – it really does work and helps you to then adapt your sales technique based on that person’s personality.

There is some really useful information in this book including what questions you should be asking at the start of a sale and whether it’s worth proceeding or if you’re wasting your time. Very valuable for any busy professional, whether you are in a sales role or a business owner like myself selling my services.

I know I will refer back to this book time and time again, it’s the best business book i’ve read so far. I also had the pleasure of meeting Alison who is just as lovely in person as she portrays herself through her book, she should be so proud of her achievements, I’m proud of her, she’s a great inspiration. A huge 5 stars from me!
