This is a fascinating flap book packed with essential information about the First World War, from the start of the conflict in 1914, to its resolution in 1918. Each of the eight double page spreads have flaps to lift to find out more, allowing the reader to look inside trenches, see an attack across no man’s land, see what goes on inside a tank, and how fighter planes defended the skies against airships. Scenes include a battleship fight, the war in the skies, trenches on the Western Front, and a tank battle in no man’s land.

A superb book which I bought for my class of 9 year olds. Informative and entertaining, and my 5 year old daughter has also found it fascinating, as do I. A superb insight for all ages!

We bought this for my son when he was doing a First world war topic at nursery. The See inside series books are always well received. They are aimed at the right level and are interesting for children with all the different flaps. I really enjoy reading them with my kids.

Bought this for my 5 year old.for Christmas after he became interested following armistice day.
Answered so many questions I couldn’t answer, also provided many facts he was enthralled with. Brilliant illustrations and my son loves the interactive nature of the lift flaps.

Clear information.

Difficult for kids to focus on the information in this book. The information is so much on each page and not arranged in any organised way. This made the kids lose interest. I had wanted something that would effectively introduce WW1 in a sequence the kids could easily understand and keep them interested.

This is a fantastic book for kids. It’s our daughter’s topic in school and this has been great to read through together at home to support learning. Tons of facts and interesting details
