December brought a surprise each day as I tended to a new seedling, an engaging twist to the festive countdown. The satisfaction of nurturing a plant from seed to sprout is quite special. Some seeds sprouted quicker than others, offering a daily dose of anticipation. It’s a patient man’s game, but the promise of herbs, vegetables, and flowers is rewarding. This set might charm anyone with a bit of soil and a window ledge craving a touch of nature.

This is such a brilliant idea and a great alternative to a traditional Advent calendar that might contain chocolates or a simple picture. I know that any avid gardener would be pleased to receive this as a pre-Christmas gift, and to give them access to 24 different seeds that they can then start planting in the spring.
Behind each Advent window is an individually wrapped bag of seeds, each bag has a QR Code on it which you can scan to find information about the plant and when and how to start planting it. Along with some of The usual suspects like courgette and cucumber and basil, there are some unusual seed choices including ice flowers and forget me nots.
This is such a brilliant idea for an Advent calendar and for the price would make a brilliant gift. The only problem is having to wait for the spring to start sowing them!

Due to the time constraints on actually germinating seeds, I will not be fully testing this prior to review, but based on the assumption that the seeds will work more or less as expected, I am really impressed with this kit. In fact, I would go so far as to say this might just be the best Advent calendar I have ever come across. It is well presented, suitable for adults or children, will provide so very much beyond the initial excitement of opening it (indeed canny gardeners may be able to reap the rewards for years to come) and it’s educational and very interactive too. It’s even well-presented, with the box featuring a lovely colourful illustration of an old fashioned Santa standing in front of a greenhouse holding a crate laden with vegetables and embossed gold foil numbers on each door. Inside each door you will find a packet of seeds: fruit, vegetables, herbs and flowers are all represented here and there’s a really good mix (full listing can be found in product description) with colourful and appealing packets. On Christmas day, once all the other doors are opened, simply open the side of the box to remove the plastic inset which doubles up as a growing tray complete with lid, two tablets of compressed soil, and a wooden spoon. The only thing I can really complain about is that it would have been better to have the instructions inside the box, because if anyone bothers to look at the back of the box it does rather give any potential surprise away. This is currently priced at £24.96, which is a considerable saving on the £39.95 RRP in place when I ordered it. It is pricier than your average High Street Advent calendar, but I would argue also more rewarding, more fun, longer lasting, and muct better for the environment.

This is a really great take on the the advent calendar. A really good idea.
Unfortunately not something I can properly review until December.
The box design is well thought out and sturdy enough for it’s purpose. It’s large and the individual boxes look easy enough to get into due to their size.
I’m not a gardener and have nowhere to properly develop any seeds I grow.
But my mother does.
She LOVES growing things, has greenhouses and pots of seedlings on the go all the time.
This is a great gift for her and the large amount of different seeds in this kit means she will get to grow things that even she has not tried before.
I like the fact that everything you need is included and even for a beginner it sounds like you will be able to enjoy growing the many different plant types contained within.
Bear in mind this will be in the middle of winter. Maybe not the best time for growing sunflowers etc? What do I know, I’m not a botanist, but I will review this again as the advent calendar is opened up, used, and the seeds begin to grow.
Fascinating. I am intrigued.

What an awesome idea. This would make a brilliant gift for a gardening enthusiast or anyone who wants to try growing.
I cannot review the growing part yet as this will be for Christmas but the concept is superb.
Quite pricey but probably well worth it hopefully!

Poor quality over priced and tells you everything that’s in it on the back so no surprise leading up to Christmas not good at all would not recommend
