Shadow Dance: Paranormal meets mafia romance in this sexy series (The Shadow Series Book 10)
£5.20
Meet the Shadow Riders, the Chicago crime family that hides a dark, mystical secret, in this addictive series, for fans of mafia romance, from No. 1 New York Times bestselling author Christine Feehan.
Tensions and passions rise in the city that never sleeps . . .
As the head of the New York City Shadow Riders and his branch of the Ferraro family, Geno bears the weight of dual responsibilities. There’s nothing more important to Geno than protecting his territory and his famiglia. So when his own parents become the latest victims in a string of vicious murders, Geno is ready to go scorched earth. He thinks he has the assassin in his sights, but he’s unprepared for the firestorm their connection ignites . . .
Amaranthe Aubert’s lithe dancer’s body conceals a spine of steel. Even held captive and faced with the threat of lethal interrogation, she’s not about to cave under pressure. She had nothing to do with the murders, no matter what the ruthless man in front of her believes. But before Amara knows what’s happening, Geno connects to her in the shadows, stripping her bare of all artifice. Now, she has no way to hide her true reason for being in New York – and nowhere to run from the man whose very presence steals the very breath from her lungs.

This series is quite unique, I don’t know how the author came up with the idea of a family that had the ability to “ride through the shadows” as if taking a short cut across town, getting into places otherwise inaccessible. Also.to make it believable, that takes some doing. Riding the shadows is not without risk, it is also intensely painful so the “riders” are taught from small children how to handle the pressure. This makes for a very rigid and disciplined childhood also a very isolated one. The only people who understand their lives are other shadow riders, their own family members and members of the other shadow riders families. They operate as a group, organised, situated around the world and they use this remarkable gift to administer their brand of justice (death) to criminals and murderers who would otherwise continue on destroying lives. THe family has three roles, those who meet and listen to the victims, those who investigate the complaints (to make sure they’re true) and those who administer the death blow. The Ferrarro family are based in America and are the main protagonists in these stories. The first books dealt with Salvatoro and his siblings but now we are moving on to his cousin Gino. These books are filled with high emotion, strong family values and as with any Christine Feehan book some very steamy sex scenes. I would say to anyone new to the series to start at the beginning as although you don’t need to read them in order to enjoy them the core group of characters appears in every book so their love stories are referenced at times. The heroines in these book are always strong women who can stand side by side with their men and when needed don’t mind getting their hands dirty, provided the cause is just. I love the family dynamic in these books and look forward to reading many more…………………….

I’ve read several in this series but the constant repetition of all the names from the previous books gets a bit long winded? I’ve found this in her other series too. Its a shame
She’s still one of my favour authors though

Christine Feehan at her best. This book has boat loads of excitement, suspense and action. It’s got some sexy times too but they add to the story instead of overwhelming the actual story. I had stopped reading Christine’s other series because they were relying on too much sex and not enough story. This one is totally different. I loved catching up with all of the Ferraro family and I’m looking forward to reading the next book in the series. I loved the ending, nail biting stuff.
