To stop his cover being terminally blown, he must follow a trail that begins in Triad-controlled Hong Kong. He is propelled back into the brutal world he thought he’d left behind. This is another brilliant book from this talented author. Nick is chasing a friend Katya who has been abducted & taken to China to be cut up & her parts sold to buyers of kidneys, lungs , hearts & marrow. He travels to China via Hong Kong to find her before they cut her open. This then takes him to Mexico where a drug gang have her against her will.

I’ve read a couple of the Nick Stone thrillers and have enjoyed everyone one
of them. This last one was by far the best. It’s hard to imagine how one
man can go through so much pain and still come out on top.
Will he ever have a normal life? Looking forward to the next book.

I have read every preceding Nick Stone book and thoroughly enjoy them all. At times this one felt like it was written by someone else other then Andy McNab. It’s interesting to see that a lot of other reviewers felt the same. Ghost writer I suppose. Quite early on I got the distinct feeling that the style of writing was different. I love Andy McNab’s raw and clunky style; it’s what make the books and the character so real, we dont need Nick to start being funny and witty. I’ve just bought the next book in the series and really hope it returns to the norm.

I enjoyed it but it’s not up to the standard of most of the others. The plot is a bit thin as far as his mate having lived in the Mexican fortress and knew the place like the back of his hand. The climax is a bit of an anti climax and the very end is a bit odd. Other reviews have mentioned that this one may have been ghost written and I wouldn’t be surprised. I have read the first 15 Nick Stone books in about a month and have enjoyed most of them enough to give them four or five stars. They flow so easily. Not this one.

ive just finished reading this an I enjoyed it, but it is very diferant from other books he,s wrote. there is action but its very limited. it says in the description that the people he is up against have armys an helicopters so you assume there will be loads of action, but theres not. it is a very good story though that does keep you interested, an its very informative of the subject matter as all his books are. personaly I would like more action, but that’s just my opinion, if your a “mcnab” fan you must read it…!!!

A good read but feels like someone else has written it. I’m a huge fan of the Nick Stone series and have read and loved them all but this one reads like it has been written by someone totally different to McNab, all the other books feel like McNab has been and done the things he’s writing about but this one reads like he or someone has written it to keep the publishing company happy. Still looking forward to the next one and hopefully it will be back to his usual standard.

I have been a reader of Andy McNab since the very beginning, and own all of the nick stone novels in hardback.
I am a big fan of these books, i think of them as the equivalent as a mid 80’s action film, except with no ropey accents or special effects. This book fit the mould perfectly and i read it in 2 days without feeling i had to make any effort to do so. The action is again a combination of gritty mayhem that you feel the author has actual experience of, and ridiculous over the top set pieces where the protagonist seems immune to the effects of pain or exhaustion, one such horse related section in particular.
I am more than happy to overlook the occasional lack of logic for a story that is breathless and moves along at a good pace never overstaying it’s welcome or overthinking it’s plot.
I would heartily recommend these books to anyone who enjoys old fashioned adventures in a modern style.

Not as good as some of his other books but I would recommend it still worth reading. Can’t wait for the next one.
