Without sounding like a MASSIVE nerd, I absolutely loved reading every page of this book.
I have searched for a book on this subject for quite some time and not found anything that is up-to-date or that didn’t offer anything a quick search on Google would provide.
Julie explains best practices and how to build a comprehensive social media strategy whilst throwing in interviews from industry-leading experts that offer their perspective on the subjects throughout the book.
I have had the pleasure of being taught by Julie and was extremely excited when I had seen she had released a book.
Her style in teaching & writing is flawless, each page is packed with thought-provoking content that will inspire you with your own social media strategy and approaches to digital marketing.
I 100% recommend this book for anyone who is new to digital marketing or an experienced digital marketer, the content offered in the book is far more valuable than the price it’s available for.
As you can see, by far the best item in my toolkit!

Social media is a must for all businesses large and small. If you’re a small business, it often seems overwhelming, and a lot of extra work, for questionable results.
This book will hold your hand and give you a clear and simple step by step approach to getting started, and keeping it up. It will also show you how to see results, and run different campaigns to test results – sounds complicated, but this book will make it much easier for you to understand,
Recommended for any small business that is not yet using social media as a promotion tool, or has used social media but haven’t got the expected results..

This practical and easy to follow guide has supported me as a Trustee to think through the social media strategy needed for our small charity. The ‘Get started’ chapter helped with considering how we wanted to use social media to further our charitable purpose and showed how an integrated approach with our core values would ensure key consistent messages reached our different audiences for maximise impact.
The models and case studies used throughout the book showed how the ideas apply in the real world and helped build confidence with the approach taken using different platforms. I would recommend this book as a valuable resource for other charities wanting to use social media for engagement but who might be struggling with knowing ‘how’ to get started.

There are so many books on this subject, I never really thought I needed another, until I read this one. It’s just very clear and concise, and in a relatively short read any marketer could get themselves up to speed with best practice in social media marketing. I find it very useful for dipping into a specific sub-topic when I’m working on something.
It’s also great that this book is new, so completely up-to-date (unlike a lot of books). And because it focusses on the core principles is likely to be relevant for many years to come. All in all a great buy and highly recommended.
