This book offers an excellent mixture of dishes from South East Asia. Authentic, bright flavours, recipes which work, it has become my go-to book for Asian recipes. The salads are particularly good – the Thai grilled beef salad, Thai rice salad with toasted coconut, and the Vietnamese chicken salad have become firm favourites while the spicy Laotian ground beef dish is wonderful for an informal supper, served scooped up in crisp lettuce leaves. These dishes are healthy, full of contrasting tastes and textures and straightforward to make. There are many more I have yet to try, but I definitely plan to.
