I bought this as a gift for a Make Up Artist and she loves it. I read previous reviews and the negative ones may not have read the (perfectly adequate) Amazon description. Don’t give it to children for Halloween makeup ideas and don’t expect it to train you to re-create injury details; this is a reference book of photographs for skilled make up artists who don’t want to/can’t resort to the internet for reference material.

As someone who works in media makeup, this book has been on my list for a while and I finally got a copy. Perfect for reference and reduces the sheer volume of books required while covering all the basics (and some more advanced) requirements for film and TV makeup artists working today.

Amazing book!! So many great reference pics. I’ve been looking for a book like this to help me with my sfx makeup work for ages. Great stuff!

Such a good book for SFX makeup , if you want real life pictures to look at , it’s amazing, not for the faint hearted, but a brilliant book well worth the money

Fascinating (if you have a strong stomach) and does exactly what it says it does: illustrates wounds.
Set text for my daughter’s special effects makeup course.

Absolutely fantastic. Gold dust for medical and makeup references. Easily one of the best books I’ve bought. The gory content needs a strong stomach, but wonderful anatomical studies
by Marta
Great book that show you stages of wounds, scars, bites, etc… Excellent for understanding
