A great book if you want to learn how to do upholstery as a beginner.

Beautiful book, well laid out with clear pictures and instructions for quite a variety of projects to inspire you.

I’ve had a couple of upholstery classes where you bring along an item to re-do. This book helps fill in a lot of gaps as the classes are expensive and you are only taught what you need for the piece you bring.
For complete newbies this book is also an excellent purchase as it takes the mystery out if the various techniques and finishes. The delivery style is no nonsense, clear and the book provides a way to dip in either by piece or by finish.

The only problem is that I was unable to find some of the raw materials mentioned (I live in Europe – Portugal) and I think it would be helpfull to indicate some substitutes (when there are any).

A good step by step guide. Very easy to follow. Cant understand why one person only gave a 1 star. Perhaps a troll!!
A good addition for DIY re-upholsterers. We recommend it.

I bought the Kindle edition to help with an upholstery project and I was impatient to get reading. The book is very thorough and has plenty of photos to help. Each project is broken into chapters with a list of supplies required as well as detailed step by step instructions. This book is written and published in the US so uses American English; some terms are different from those used in the UK. My only regret is that I bought the Kindle version as each page fits only a small amount of information and it is considerably more difficult to flick back and forth to find the section you want than it would be in the physical book.
