Son loves these and the opening of the doors on each page. Great illustrations, stoires and door ideas. Put away for Xmas but same as the rest of the range.

My daughter has thoroughly enjoyed this book and all of the other books in the Tales of Acorn Wood series since she was about 8 months old.
The illustrations are truly lovely and they have provided great opportunities for discussing friendship, woodland animals, and in this story, snow and using teamwork to build a snowman. I would say that this book is slightly less interactive than the others – the story is very simple and there are fewer opportunities for labelling everyday objects, colours or sounds. Though the winter theming makes a lovely seasonably appropriate book.
The stories are on the simpler side, but I think this is where the books stand out for their specialism for babies and younger toddlers. Many story books are a bit more advanced for this age group and many books designed for this age group seem to be centred around non-fiction (in our experience), so we really have enjoyed collecting them all – I will always treasure them as the first stories and series my daughter has been interested in. As my daughter approaches two years old, I can see her interest in the series reducing somewhat.
A slight shame about this book and the other books in the series is that some of the flaps are very small, and therefore fragile. My daughter has come very close to ripping the small coal flap/fiddly coal flap, despite trying to supervise her as much as possible. Given that they are a series for the youngest kiddos, you would think the creators would plan for some rip-proofing or at least rip-reduction in their designs; sadly not.

We have had hours of reading this and she loves it. Flaps are just big enough for small hands and very engaging.

A really lovely book in the series. Sometimes initially the flaps are stuck so it is easy to tear them so great care is needed to lift them when book is new.

I got this when it was on offer so it was a super bargain, you always know what you’re getting with these books – good quality and a story all toddlers love.

My 5 month old loves these series of books. I’ve read to him since he was born and he gets so excited when he sees these books. He loves the flaps, although I’m not sure how much longer they will last with him ????.
