I actually prefer the DS9TM to the TNGTM as there is a more prose like quality to the writing. Like DS9 itself, the DS9 Technical Manual has references to the characters and the effect they had in creating or using the technology. The illustrations are excellent (in full colour!) and the gatefolds of Deep Space 9 and the the USS Defiant are fantastic as well.

The book has arrived in perfect like new condition. I was able to read (until now) about half of it and I can
clearly restate or rather modify a bit the Bio labs logo from the advanced PC game Half Life 1(1998)-SUPERBUS VIA INSCIENTIAE-Magnificent is the path of ignorance into SUPERBUS VIA SCIENTIAE !!! Magnificent is the path of SCIENCE !!! The technical details in this book are just breathtaking !
If you needed any more confirmation that science can become magic, then read this book! Arthur C. Clarke was right in his statement: Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic!!!
The science part of SF is very well compiled, giving you the sense that all that tech is real now !
As an avid fan, having seen ALL Star Trek movies and TV series, this book was a true jewel to be discovered !
Thank you so much for an expedited delivery !
Science should be ruling a united planet with SCIENTISTS making the laws !
Unfortunately, 95% of this planet’s inhabitants believe in religions (magic) and politicians, creating a social and political CHAOS !!! We should be studying THESE types of books in school and not ridiculous mombo jombo!

I bought this way back in the year 2000 – not long after DS9 ended its run on TV – and I found it excellent, far better than the comparatively dull and dry TNG Technical Manual. This book is colourful, detailed (without becoming *too* indepth) and varied, discussing not only technical issues but also the social setup of DS9, which is appropriate considering the more complex tone of that series.
If you watched (or still watch!) DS9 on a regular or semi-regular basis, this will entertain you and bring you back to the “good old days” when anyone with a brain knew that DS9 was the best Trek series ever!
