Starting Over

£2.40

Single mom Vanessa Holt has a daughter she loves, a supportive family, and her art. Having given up on finding true love—if that even exists, which she doubts—she’s content to put romance on the back burner. But not everyone agrees. Those nearest and dearest are ready to see Vanessa let down her long blonde hair and have some fun.

To put their grumbling to rest, Vanessa agrees to go on a date with the next man who asks. Luckily for her, that man is Cameron Thomas, her daughter’s extremely handsome science teacher. She’d felt a spark of chemistry the first time she’d laid eyes on him. Now she’s ready to lay a whole lot more on the sexy bachelor.

But just as things get hot, they also get heavy. When the man who broke Vanessa’s heart reappears, her old doubts and fears about love rush to the surface. Will her fresh start with Cameron be over before it’s barely begun?

And as another lovely romance. Vanessa Cameron and Josie were beautifully illustrated and I felt quite emotional about Vanessa’s attempt to end her relationship. Less believable was Matthew. Julia and Alex and their got Violet were just as I hoped that family would develop so another happy ending. Two things niggled: how did Cameron get to 35 without baggage if he is so attractive? The other was use if Esquire. As a British it has precise meaning, so finding out that it has a separate use in America was interesting.

This is a really great contemporary romance story that makes you think of real-life fairy tales and handsome princes.

This is my second Barbie Bohrman novel and I am definitely a fan.

This book contains warm, quirky, lovable characters. And the plot has just enough family drama, heartache, and romance to keep it interesting and engaging.

Anyone looking for a sweet, well written, easy read will love this book.

I have been looking forward to the release of this book since I read Playing it Safe (which is one of the best books of this genre that I read in 2015). We get to spend some more time with Alex and Julia from Playing it Safe, while the Author tells the story of Vanessa, Alex’s older sister and single mom extraordinaire who, after focusing entirely on raising her daughter for 13 years, for the first time in years begins to feel a romantic attraction when she meets her daughter’s new Science teacher. As the story of a single mum who begins dating again the book is absolutely relatable and the writing is, as always, engaging and never boring – although the romance feels sometimes secondary to the storyboard and the way the main characters are outlined at times feels like something is missing – nevertheless the book on the whole is a pleasant read with real laugh-out-loud moments. Would definitely recommend!
