Stick Around

£5.70

Member retention is a massive problem in the gym industry, despite advances in technology and new exercise trends. Many clubs have 50% of members leave within a year of joining. Guy Griffiths aims to positively affect the health and fitness of more people each year. His work with systems and people has helped many clubs to get their members to stick around. The book sets out three cornerstones of good retention; people, communication and systems. It has proven techniques for improving member interaction inside and outside your club. It also describes how to build a retention system, as well as how to use more complex retention systems. It runs through the full member journey. Each stage is accompanied by diagrams and case-studies to illustrate key points. The journey continues after the member leaves, showing how to use your ex-member database as a prospect tool. Summaries, checklists and examples provide an invaluable resource to anyone involved in the running of a health-club.

Stick Around is great introduction to the complex world or fitness membership retention. The author makes it simple and easy to understand, covering some great areas and giving some useful tips.

I would recommend this book to fitness managers or anyone who is charged with developing a retention strategy for their club or centre. Stick Around explains the various ways to measure the success of your retention strategy, this is one area that is often misunderstood.

Simple, a good read and one that will help people get great!!

Guy does a great job in this book of taking the sometimes massive task of retention improvement and breaks it down into easy, understandable and importantly actionable parts. I would strongly recommend anyone working in the fitness industry reads it.

Stick around breaks down the customer journey into a very easy to read, and lifts the lid on how and why retention can be practically implemented in the gym or members club. What I liked about it is that you could implement most of the recommendations with resources already at your disposal. Indespensible.

    Stick Around!
This publication may not be as edifying as the Hitchhikers Guide and lacks the immortal words ‘Don’t Panic!’ on the cover but it is the title of a book that Douglas Adams could have written.
It is certainly more revealing than the Encyclopaedia Galactica….
Stick Around is an essential guide and companion to the mysteries of member retention.
    Now, where’s my Gym Towel?
