    I smiled when I read the title of this useful book as it seemed to be aimed directly at me; I’m a terrible over-thinker! I like how the author doesn’t start with a lengthy introduction before the self-help content begins. I have read similar books, but they haven’t included the benefits of aromatherapy. SMART goals are discussed, which is helpful for ensuring you are being specific about what you want to achieve. It rang true to me in many other ways, for example, subjects covering ‘embracing imperfection’ and ‘releasing the need for control’ are things I know I fall down on. As it also discusses diet and sleep, this book is far more than just breathing exercises and positive mantras. All these elements are important if the breathing exercises etc, are to work – and this is why, for me, this book stands out from the others. If you’re serious about changing up your life, investing in this gem is an excellent place to start.

    AN EXCELLENT RESOURCE FOR EVERYONE. This book could have easily been titled: “How to live life on your own terms” because it highlights everything we need to do, to achieve emotional freedom – from from over thinking, judging self and others, worrying about things that haven’t happened and ruminating on the past.

    Specifically, this book is an intelligent guide to intercepting unproductive spirals of thought, taking a moment for self awareness, and replacing useless thoughts with productive ones. There is so much more included in this book, like cultivating a gratitude mindset and looking at all life events as opportunities for growth and development. Another piece of the puzzle is the practice of writing positive affirmations – something I forget to do until I’m reminded by reading a book like this one.

    I was especially keen on the chapter about productivity and creativity – two things I am passionately interested in – and I loved the way it explained that overthinking and cycles of negative self talk are among the major barriers to productivity and creativity. This book is an excellent resource for all humans.
