I absolutely love this book, the recipe’s are so eastmy to follow and they use ingredients that I already have in my cupboard, irsmy go to book when I’m stuck on what to cook for dinner and if I have no idea what to make. I also bought this book for my mum and she calls it her lifesaver! I would highly recommend this book!!

I love MG cooking books and this one is one of my favourites. So many recipes to choose from and to fulfill everyone’s needs if you have a meat eatter/veggie eatter to cater for. Also suited to my 2 year old…he loves flavour and texture and this book has it all.

I have all of the £1 meal books, but this one is my least favourite so far. I’m not sure you could really call this ‘store cupboard’ meals, there’s no more dry ingredients than other books and also the recipes are now for 4 rather than for 1. I know it’s easy enough to divide it but I feel like the others have been built around that and then suddenly it’s been changed, it’s a bit annoying as a lot of the recipes I make just for me. He’s one of my favourite chefs but I feel like he’s missed the mark with this book a little

I got a signed copy and I’m so pleased I’m a big fan and even bumped into him one day and he recognised as one of his original followers and to say thank you he signed a copy of his previous book. This book is brilliant packed with great pictures and inspirational food ideas. Defo my favourite chef. Grab a Copy you wont be disappointed.

I ordered this book five months ago and waited eagerly for publication – today. I’ve enjoyed Miguel Barclay’s other books. His recipes are interesting and fun to make.
However, unlike all the other books which I own, the recipes in this book are all for four portions. Yes, I know I could quarter the recipes (anybody want the other three quarters of a pinch of chill powder or half an egg?) but there are a zillion recipe books out there with recipes for four. I have a freezer full of the other three portions of innumerable recipes. I relied on Miguel Barclay for the days when I wanted to cook a treat for me and just me.
Those lovely meals for one were a joy. I had been looking forward to cooking more of them but this book is going right back to Amazon.

I have really enjoyed reading through the recipes in this book. It’s full of good ideas that are just a bit different. We all need a bit of a pick up through this time of pandemic and all that goes with it. It’s really good to prepare and eat something a bit different to usual. Thanks to this book I have done so.

I have all Mr Barclays books, and they are really useful. I feel out of my depth when it comes to cooking and his recipes inspire me and give me confidence. However, for me there is a big ‘but’; there are no puddings or desserts, not one, not ever. I can’t be the only person who would love to see some simple puds, perhaps in a new book devoted to just that. Please Mr Barclay, would you consider writing a new book with just ‘afters’?
