Having listened to a podcast in which Jonas Dodoo recommended this book, I purchased it for personal interest. As a local community athletics club sprint coach I find this a hugely useful resource in so many ways. The first chapters provide a thorough reference of technical words and terminology necessay to gain a good and current understanding of biomechanical and physiological systems relating to strength training for speed. It is highly relevant to sprinters at all levels of development with careful thought given to differentiation of athletes at different training ages. There are extremely helpful diagrams and explanations of a range of useful exerises which can be used to address individual athlete weaknesses and general allround abilities. Having only received my copy this morning and skim reading all chapters, I can tell that this will be one of my most thumbed texts. I can give it no higher praise.

This book is brilliant for us as there are lots of ideas and is a great follow up tool to all the athletics courses. My thirteen year old has already found lots of exercises for his training. I’m sure every Athletics club would benefit from a copy of this book. We are very impress.
