For the most part there are some good solid recipes in here which don’t demand lots of unusual ingredients or complex techniques. My main issue with this book is that she claims it is vegetarian, the back of the book calls it vegetarian yet she uses fish sauce and parmesan in her recipes. Although most vegetarians of course realise that these ingredients are not vegetarian if someone was cooking you a dish from here they might well assume that fish sauce and parmesan were fine to serve people who don’t eat meat. It would have been very easy for her to make a comment at the start or on the page of the recipes ‘vegetarian parmesan or hard cheese’ and i also don’t understand why fish sauce would be needed in a vegetarian recepie books at all, surely she could use an alternative ingredient?

Extremely pleased with this purchase. This second hand book is in excellent condition. It arrived within reasonable time and was definitely as described by the seller. At only 1p plus delivery it couldn;t be better value.

I bought this book after borrowing it from my local library. We are vegetarian and we loved so many of the recipes we tried from this book. Easy. tasty and very nutritious. I also like that I can look into my fridge or cupboard and then look up a suitable recipe using one main ingredient!

There are very few vegetarian recipe books that (in my opinion) are as good as
River Cottage Veg Every Day! (River Cottage Every Day)
. However, this is most definitely one of them, and it’s potentially even better. The layout is beautiful, and the recipes interesting but simple enough for everyone. There’s also enough variation to cover every type of year. Our family bought three copies of this for different people this Christmas!

I’m not vegetarian, but I love vegetables and often they feature as the main course. This book was a steal as a 99p ebook and it’s very well set out, user friendly with plenty of hyperlinks to move from section to section.
There’s an interesting introduction followed by sections with recipes featuring a veg type including Roots, Onions, Beans, Mushrooms, Cabbages and more. I’ve tried the mushroom and Stilton gougère, basically a chorus pastry base filled with scrumptious saucy mix. It’s delicious and even more so if you’re lucky enough to be able to collect wild field mushrooms. Just browsing through the book is mouthwatering and there are so many tips and ideas. It’s colourful, with colour photos throughout and the recipes are easy to follow. An excellent addition to any collection.
