I’ve bought many Usborne books for my nephews and niece and have always found them exceptionally good. However, this particular book is extremely disappointing. The paper quality is very poor, as are the illustrations (which are surprisingly sparse). The spellings are American which could cause problems for children struggling with their spelling or reading. The layout is unappealing and I doubt many Primary school-age children would be inspired to read it from start to finish. This poorly-produced, dull, dead-weight book might well end up putting people off the Tales of King Arthur and will almost certainly be a dust-gatherer. If you want your child to enter into a world of adventure and excitement, I recommend that you steer clear of this unimaginative version of the Arthurian legend.

In complete contrast to the other review, my 9 year old son said this is the most interesting and exciting book he has ever read ! I haven’t read it myself but he has thoroughly enjoyed it.

Took me back to childhood reading this in school as part of English Lit classes Classic tales well told evoking bygone era … full of the adventure and romance I remember!
