I’m a clinical psychologist and I believe this is one of the best self-help books that has come out in recent years. It is fully evidence-based and packed with useful tips and strategies that people can put into practice immediately to relieve their anxiety and to contribute to longer term healing. Dr Kirren’s years of clinical expertise with anxiety patients really shines through. I love the balance of clear information, clinical case studies, and engaging exercises. It’s the anxiety self bible! I would highly recommend this to any of my patients. (Review posted with no conflict of interest).

The best self help book I have purchased, with clear structure and easy to follow points to help conquer anxiety. I have found that every single chapter in this book provides invaluable techniques and tips. It is an easy, relatable read and a book that I will continually refer back to when I need to refresh myself on certain chapters. Thank you Dr Kirren, this book has helped me so much.

Ten Times Calmer by Dr Kirren Schnack
Very interesting read that goes some way in helping you understand why you have anxiety and gives you a coping strategy to deal with it.
I’ve never had it before and have managed to get through a good few decades before it has reared its ugly head , but by reading this book , and spending some time to understand my triggers , I think it could really help moving forward.

I bought this book as a last resort. I have been through therapy for 2 years now and I felt like I was getting nowhere (I still am having sessions). Since reading this book I have learnt so much about anxiety from how it happens, how it presents itself in your body and how to tackle it properly. I had lots of techniques in my tool kit that I was given but it’s not until reading this book that I was never explained how to do these techniques properly so i now understand why they weren’t working for me.
I am so glad I found this book as it’s really making a difference to me and I am starting to rewire my brain to help rid the anxiety. It’s a slow progress but it’s the most progress I have made in a long time.
Thank you!!!

A really good book for anyone experiencing anxiety. It is informative but compassionate. I think this book is as close as one can get to seeing a psychologist without actually seeing one.

This book is brimming with expert knowledge about anxiety, offering clear techniques, numerous case studies, and a well-structured approach across its 10 chapters, each dedicated to addressing a specific aspect of anxiety with a lot of practical advice. Dr Kirren’s empathy, care and concern for those suffering anxiety radiates from the pages, just incredible after all the patronising sentiments I’ve heard. It provides clear explanations about the causes of anxiety and its triggers, I recognised many in myself. Having followed Dr. Kirren online for some time, I found her advice to be more helpful than any counsellor or therapist I’ve seen. I was keen to get her book and pleasantly surprised when it arrived earlier than expected. This book is an invaluable resource for anyone dealing with anxiety, I have health anxiety and GAD, as well as occasional panic attacks. It offers insights into understanding the root causes of anxiety, presents new approaches to managing it, and gives effective exercises to stop fixating on anxiety symptoms. It guides you on handling strong emotions and navigating the uncertainty prevalent in anxiety sufferers, and others in today’s world. The book offers reassuring words and strategies for future-planning to prevent anxiety, there is a very handy reference with a comprehensive list of anxiety symptoms. There’s much to learn within these pages, I’m getting equipped with the tools I need to deal with my anxiety. Thank you Dr Kirren.
