A global phenomenon, The Alchemist has been read and loved by over 62 million readers, topping bestseller lists in 74 countries worldwide. Now this magical fable is beautifully repackaged in an edition that lovers of Paulo Coelho will want to treasure forever.
Every few decades a book is published that changes the lives of its readers forever. This is such a book – a beautiful parable about learning to listen to your heart, read the omens strewn along life’s path and, above all, follow your dreams.
Santiago, a young shepherd living in the hills of Andalucia, feels that there is more to life than his humble home and his flock. One day he finds the courage to follow his dreams into distant lands, each step galvanised by the knowledge that he is following the right path: his own. The people he meets along the way, the things he sees and the wisdom he learns are life-changing.
With Paulo Coelho’s visionary blend of spirituality, magical realism and folklore, The Alchemist is a story with the power to inspire nations and change people’s lives.

I had read that this book was life changing and having read several books about controlling your destiny, looking for signs, listening to your self and following your dream, this didnt really add much. Yes it was a nice tale and I can understand why people see it as a revelation and life changing, if it the first time the concept has been considered. It may be helpful in todays society for encouraging mindfulness, connecting with nature and stopping in this busy world, as before we know it our life has past by and we realise we have ‘done nothing’ and our childhood dreams remain unfulfilled.

Amazing take on our life’s journey. Sometimes the simplest told tales can tell us the most profound truths. Everyone shoulders this book.

Very late to the party in reading this book but my friend recommended it to me years ago and I’ve only just got round to purchasing it. Absolutely lovely tale – full of real deep meaning. Inspiring and thought provoking.

I first read this book in my 20’s and it changed me. Now all these years later it has changed me again. I must have bought 9 copies that I have shared with friends, or those that needed to hear the soul of the world. I have now introduced another generation to read and understand what is written. I know that this Will not be the last copy that I will share and this simple story will continue to change all those who read it.
