Very good book for an overall introduction to the history, culture and society of Ancient Egypt.
As someone who loves history the book is highly informative and a pleasure to read, maybe not from cover to cover but is a good book to just pick up and start at any point.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading about history and/or anyone studying this fascinating period of Human History!

I do not doubt that this may be a superb book, well researched and written, but there is a lamentable lack of photos and/or pictures to illustrate the descriptions.
The inside cover of the book and at various places within the book refer to the cheat sheets for charts etc.
The web site given only gives a timeline with no charts.
Research shows that the cheat sheets should be on pages 365-366,whereas the last page in my book is number 354.
A good book but lacks the finishing touches to make it really good

Very useful reference book as all ‘Dummy’ editions are. I’m studying Egyptology and this book is proving invaluable. There is NO TIMELINE in the book however which is very disappointing because it would have been useful.

A very interesting book packed with lots of information about Ancient Egypt. I love dipping into this. Would be interesting to people who are just wanting to find out more about Egypt or anyone who wanted to have facts to hand all in one book.
