The pages are of really high quality – clearly strong and unlikely to rip easily.
The print quality is incredibly high, perfectly showing the artist’s original intentions and interpretrations.
A few of the larger double pages that was a singular print over both pages were stuck together in the corner, although I imagine that’s an unavoidable thing. They unstick easily and leave a very faint white outline as to where they were stuck together, which was only a small amount on the very edge of the page.

A superb way to celebrate Death Stranding. Really high quality print throughout and the gold page edges are a very nice touch. Will be taking pride of place on my coffee table.

SO HAPPY TO FINALLY GET MY MITTS ON THIS! I preordered the book back in December and was so frustrated the release date kept getting changed. Was so close to cancelling and then the day after my birthday, it arrived! And didn’t disappoint!

Not posting pics of the inside in case, knowing my luck, I spoil the game for someone. But wow. This is a coffee table artbook that DS and Hideo fans need.

The gold of the pages stands out and the page layouts are perfect. Each one has information on the style and design. Yoji Shinkawa’s art style is one of my favourites, ever since I played the first MGS as a child, I’ve been drawn to his work.

There is so much in this book from character design to weapons, creatures, outfits and environments. I paid £21 and it’s worth it. Heck, at £30 its worth it. The size and weight of this beauty is worth every penny!

Great concepts and arts about creating Death Stranding world.

Interesting book showing concept art both used and unused during the creation of the video game Death Stranding

4/5 as it would have been nice if the book had included 3D renders of how the final asset(s) worked out as a result of the concept art. The book does include some images of Sam Porter Bridges in all his glorious 3D render-ness, but other characters appear to have been omitted.

As someone who is very interested in Death Stranding, I knew I had to pre-order the art book as soon as I could. There are 256 pages, it’s a square shaped book with some pictures spanning the entire two pages and other sketches taking up part of a page. You will see sketches and details about main characters, side characters, landscapes, monsters, objects, vehicles and other little bits and pieces. There is some final art, some late-concept art, some early-concept and some art that ended up on the cutting room floor. The page edges have a nice gold-tint to them and the book cover itself is very nice. I enjoyed my purchase and it’s worth getting if you have a strong interest in sci-fi or fantasy.

I’m assuming that if you are looking at purchasing the book you enjoyed the game. Gamers will understand that this was a conflicting title, a Marmite game, if you will. I managed to snag the Collectors Edition and even bought the Q-Pid Replica Necklace, Bridges Pin and Cap. So I did enjoy the game and the beautiful, immersive world it created. The only reason I still occasionally re-visit the game is solely for the world and its beauty.

For some reason I prefer Dark Horse but Titan Books has produced a flawless product. The gold tinged pages is a minor yet next level changing detail. Solidly made with a nice weight makes it feel like a premium product. Anyone familiar with Metal Gear will love the character sketches but it was the environments/world I was most interested in.

The older I get the more I appreciate the use of colour and lighting to give images a feeling of warmth or cold. You don’t really get value for money anymore which is why its nice when you receive an item and it meets or surpasses expectations. A must have for fans.

This is a generous compendium of concept artwork for the characters, costumes, equipment, locations and monsters of Death Stranding, although it’s a bit lacking in commentary and structure. There are occasional details outlining the particular challenges that were faced or why particular creative directions were taken, but you’re largely left to muse on the creative process on your own. Surprisingly, the artists aren’t indicated on the different pieces – although Yoji Shinkawa’s style is immediately obvious, the other artists are rendered a bit anonymous as a result.
