I may not be entitled to post a review as I couldn’t force myself to finish the book. Got 60% of the way then simply stopped caring what happened to these characters. I wish I hadn’t pre-ordered the third in the trilogy. Story’s pace was too slow for me and the interplay between the characters lacked truth. Too much detail on the relationship between magic and science and not enough plot. Felt self-indulgent. Wish editors wouldn’t stop doing their job after the first book when an author comes up with a trilogy.

I bought The Atlas Paradox soon after I bought The Atlas Six…. and returned it before I even got half way through the first book.
I really wanted to love this book, the synopsis sounds so good, with so much potential! BUT my gosh, the writing is so bad… so so SO BAD.
It took me absolute ages to finish it and towards the end I had to skim read. I hear they are turning this in to a TV adaptation, and I think that would be much better!

I am full. My mind is still trying to process the psychoanalysis, the quantum physics and the moral hypocrisy of geo politics. The relationships between ‘colleagues’. What on earth have I just read? Why is my brain spinning?
Oh my God where is the final part of this marvellous story?

I enjoyed reading this series but I’m not sure how it became a “tiktok sensation”. The writing was ok, the characters were interesting but more like caricatures than fully rounded people. The overall premise is great, just wish the writing had been better.

Bought as a gift so happy when it arrived undamaged unlike some books I have ordered in the past. Good price for a hardback.
