I am so glad booktok showed me this book, I jumped in based off of one single line and I regret NOTHING! I especially love the fact that the characters are all very unique and feel very original too, especially our dearest Dianna, who might appear morally grey but we all know she’s the sweetest squishy marshmallow at heart and I am SO excited for the second book to see what she does now the gloves are officially OFF. Liam, a character that makes you feel sympathy and frustration at the same time -i like the fact that throughout the book we are drip fed more information on his past and his character development feels so naturally and intriguing.
Loved it so much, cannot wait for book 2 (only got to wait 24 hours until it comes out -lucky me!) And did I see that this will be a 5 book series? HELL YES PLEASE!

Is this a debut author? because my god I’m impressed, what a fabulous well well-written immersive experience this was, I was bloody transfixed throughout and this was a long book. The world-building, fabulous, some of the best I’ve experienced to date, the story was so incredibly imaginative and nuanced, all of the characters were fleshed out there were no weak links and the enemies-to-lovers vibe it totally worked.
I also appreciated that these two were proper enemies as a lot of books that claim this, that just isn’t the case, they are frenemies at best, these two were the real deal and initially hated each other’s guts. The connections built here were a slow-burn thing that just worked and it just felt so incredibly authentic and believable. It was a gradual progression that crept up on them both, taking them by complete surprise. I loved where these two ended up together emotionally it really shouldn’t have worked, them being at first glance so different but it just did.
This is dual POV our heroine Dianna is definitely the protagonist and very much when this begins she’s the evil villain of the piece as this progresses you realise the reasoning behind everything she does and it does then paint her in a different light, shades of grey rather than truly bad because are you truly a monster if what you do is all for the benefit and safety of another person and you yourself are not the beneficiary of your heinous actions. Yes, the acts are still evil but the reasoning definitely makes it much more understandable.
Then we have Samkiel/Liam a tortured immortal god, monikered the World Ender for his past infamous exploits. Since the fall and devastation of his home world Rashearim he has been in self-imposed seclusion burying himself in recriminations of deep guilt and regret.
Dianna is Liam’s mortal enemy she is an Ig’Morruthen a fabled creature of blood death and destruction thought to be extinct in this new world all thought destroyed in the battle of the gods. Once human Dianne was transformed into what she now is by her master and sometime lover Kaden and though she yearns to break free from his control he holds the one being over Dianna’s head that matters to her, her sister Gabby.
When Dianna switches sides it forces both her and Liam into an unexpected close partnership which takes them on a journey, a quest searching for a fabled book that Liam isn’t even sure for certain exists. Trust is low and suspicion rife with these two as they have to learn to work as a team. Their close proximity means a slow switch from enemies to reluctant comrades.
I loved the banter between these two and the connection that flourishes first as friends and then as something more and these two despite being polar opposites are also extremely similar in their natures and because of this, they understand each other’s dark bits. I certainly appreciated that both Dianna and Liam were such flawed individuals it made them so much more relatable to me. This also wasn’t a graphic read as the romance side of this is very slow burn but my god the chemistry was scorching and gave me bloody tingles this is slow burn enemies to lovers how it should be done.
We had such a diverse cast of characters and along with the immense world-building you can expect to meet gods celestial beings, vampires, witches and more besides. We also then have magic, adventure betrayal and humour and this was then packed with so much creative imagination. The author has managed to create such a diverse intriguing world and I’m excited for what’s to come next.
During the final pages here I was on the edge of my seat and that finale was so intense real edge-of-your-seat stuff I’m definitely looking forward to reading the second book and also seeing just what this now means for Dianna and Liam going forward and where do they go from here especially now Dianna is understandably losing her mind.

The start of the book is slow and quite predicting, however the second part is breathtaking.
The plot twists are great, and I can’t wait to read the next one.

Opened package and that was the first question that popped into my mind. This review is not about the book but about the quality of the print.
The covers are blurry, off centre and clearly have been copied from original.
To charge 15£ for this should be a crime.

I loved reading this book so much! The world building is amazing, Dianna is super badass and I love how she grew in the book. Liam is awesome as well and love the chemistry between these too. Would have loved a little more steam but the amazing storyline makes up for it! Can’t wait to read the next in the series after the massive cliffhanger!

It took me a little while to get into this book, I wasn’t a massive fan of the main character to start with and there was a lot to learn about this new world. However, I was soon hooked and will be starting the second book immediately!!!
