A lot of the signs are basically the same, repeated in different sections with different meanings. Even those that are unique are often lacking much, if any, history, explanation, context or origin. The few bits and pieces of longer descriptions are full of pompous language.
Okay if you just want a source of symbols with vague meanings, but if you want more background information I do not recommend this book.

I have recently become interested with symbols and mysticism. Although I don’t really know where to start, I have found this book pointing me in the right direction. Grammar and spelling needs improvement, but the content is good. I felt it could go into more detail, but that’s part of the journey to find out more for myself. A nice way as means of introduction.

A useful little source book for graphic inspiration. The glosses on each symbol add flavour, if not scholarly depth.
