I really struggled with this one. Recommended as part of a book club but I just can’t get past the rather churlish story that’s supposed to sit under the overall message.
I can’t say I felt more optimistic as a result but it did attract the attention of a rather odd character on the bus who did like it and did have the optimism as a result of reading it.
I’d like to give it another go but I don’t have it in me to try again.

I understand why the writer needed to pad it out with the story but I feel the storyline is like something you’d find in a teen age-appropriate adventure book – but it’s bearable! Worth speed reading the story to the juicy bits – each of the prophecies, then having a good think about how they appear in your own life, reflecting and using the information to make good changes in your understanding or approach to your own life.
I have often felt a little lost for spiritual guidance through my life as just could not feel any connection to a religion. This book helps my to have a sense of spiritual connection which is not religion based.
I liked the notion of understanding control behaviours, how they present themselves and the consequences and also the use of meditation as a tool for recharging energies when they are low. Also, the flow of energy from person to person and I try to be consciously aware of positively giving energy to everyone who enters my day or to be aware when I might be draining someone’s energy with my negative behaviour. Looking out for key messages from people I meet on a day to day basis makes me properly stop and listen to what people have to say or what they might be able to teach me.
I enjoy trying to work out why some people’s behaviour triggers me and understand I need to look deeper into myself to understand why and maybe resolve some issues I may be carrying.
An easy read, naff story but good things hidden within! I have given the book to my 11yr old son who is enjoying it too so good for all ages.

I absolutely love this book. I am not a regular book reader and usually takes me ages to read a book but this book is one of my favourites. So much so that I went and bought the next 2 sequels. As someone who is on a spiritual journey this book speaks to me. It is an adventure of finding the truth and a purpose of life and expanding your consciousness. I watched the movie afterwords but the movie is just about watchable and doesn’t do this story any justice. I highly recommend reading this book to anyone interested in spiritual growth.

I know this book has received good reviews and was a best seller. It has probably been superceded by time but I was very disappointed. At the start it seemed mysterious and quite exiting but as it progressed I found it to be tedious, repetitive and increasingly unrealistic. I carried on to the end and it just got worse. It predicts an optimistic vision of the future of humanity which, at this time, appears to be totally opposite to what is happening. I was almost relieved when it reached its very anti-climactic ending. I am puzzled by the good reviews but, again, maybe it is just out of date.

I was very disappointed in this book, I had heard about it
On and off for years. But I found this tedious and uninspired. In its day it was news to those seeking the truth about the spiritual side of humanity. So everything depends on what you usually read and how far down the road you are in your search.
