Emma Love is a matchmaker who believes in old fashioned courtship, over swiping left or right. She’s inspired by Jane Austen, Bridgerton and a thousand and one perfect romance stories, where matches were made at elegant soirees and not by sliding into your intended’s DMs.
This year, Emma is inviting you to a very special social season, where a hopeful singleton might find their own Mr Darcy waiting under the mistletoe. At a series of glamorous, festive, and, most importantly, romantic events, Emma is making it her mission to find love for everyone this Christmas Season.
How will she fare trying to find perfect matches for the Price twins, both too busy trying to outdo the other to ever look for love? Can she encourage the sexy Season rake, Theo, to change his ways? And what of Hope Lucas, who Emma has failed to match before, but who still has faith that Mr Right is out there?
And with Emma so focused on finding everybody else’s happy ever after, is she at risk of letting her own perfect match slip away?
Welcome to the Christmas Season.

My Opinion
This is short, fun, light-hearted read. Ally has written this using four different perspectives but it was easy enough to follow and worked quite well. This is a festive book, but it could be read at any time of the year.
Ally Sinclair was a new author for me – I haven’t read the first book in the series, but I was able to keep up. I have already added the first book in the series to my want to read mountain. Overall, this was an enjoyable read that was easy to finish in a few hours. This would make a great festive book to read curled up under a blanket.

I first discovered Ally Sinclair’s work last year when I had the good fortune to read one of Ally’s books called ‘A Season Of Love’. When I heard that she was due to release another book, I knew that I had to read it just as soon as I could. Well ladies and gents the wait is over because Ally’s new book is called ‘The Christmas Season’ and it was released on 10th August 2023. It’s another corker of a read, which I thoroughly enjoyed reading but more about that in a bit.
I must admit that the synopsis of ‘The Christmas Season’ was enough to grab my attention and draw me in. As soon as I started reading ‘The Christmas Season’ it didn’t take me long to realise that I was reading something special and that I would struggle to put the book to one side for any length of time. I liked the idea of repeating traditions from years gone by. I loved reuniting with the characters from the first book and it felt like I was reuniting with old friends. I had a theory as to how the story was going to pan out so I had to keep reading to see if I was on the right track or if I had wandered off in the opposite direction. The more of the book that I read, the more I wanted to read and the quicker the pages seemed to turn. All too quickly I reached the end of ‘The Christmas Season’. I found ‘The Christmas Season’ to be an addictive and highly enjoyable read.
‘The Christmas Season’ is very well written. Ally has an easy going writing style that is easy to get used to and easy to get along with. In fact reading one of Ally’s books often feels more like a chat between friends rather than reading an actual book. I hope that makes sense. Ally’s characters are so vividly and realistically described that they seem just as real as you and I. Indeed some of the characters seemed like friends of mine. I loved the way in which the agency mixes the old and the new traditions. I love the way in which Ally makes the reader feel as though they are part of the story and at the heart of the action. This was one of those books that held my attention throughout, made me chuckle from the beginning and left me feeling as though I had had a hug from a mug of hot chocolate – in other words I was left feeling all warm and fuzzy inside.
In short, I thoroughly enjoyed reading ‘The Christmas Season’ and I would recommend it to other readers. I will certainly be reading more of Ally’s work in the future. The score on the Ginger Book Geek board is a very well deserved 4* out of 5*.

A good romance with great characters. This book is well written with familiarities of other great romance stories. It is heart warming and an easy read. Did not put the book down until I had finished it

My Review: Such a cute and sweet story, inspired by love stories of the past and not these fast paced swiping. Emma Love is a match maker, determined to match people up for life. This Christmas season she is dedicated to throwing Christmas themed Match Making Parties. Limousines, cute guys, domestic situations and even a Vegas wedding. I totally enjoyable read, with love and Christmas at the heart of the story.

This is a follow up to A Season for Love, in which single people take part in a regency style social season to find love – like a modern day Bridgerton! So enjoyed reading this. It reminded me how much I loved A Season for Love. It was lovely to revisit some of the characters and be introduced to new ones looking for love. The author masterfully manages several storylines across a good handful of characters and I found myself invested in all of them. I do hope there is a next in the series as it felt like there were a few cliffhangers!
What to expect:
– regency style social season for modern day dating
– friends to lovers
– opposites attract
– LGBTQ romance

I I’ll The Christmas Season is a lovely, Christmassy, romantic, fun read and I found it such a cosy book too.
This book was not just a frothy, Christmassy romance, it had some depth to it too.
Emma, Hope, Connie and Grace are the four main characters that the story centres around. I loved getting to know them all and loved how their stories unfolded. All the characters were very relatable and down-to-earth and came across as ‘real’ people.
The author’s style of writing was wonderful and the story was heartwarming and cosy and left me with a big smile on my face…….
