I am using this as my textbook for the ILM5 qualification in Mentoring and Coaching. I read a bit each night and reflect in the morning. Every paragraph has made me stop and think, I know it will be by my side as I progress and learn as a Mentor.

Julie’s guide should be your ‘go-to’ book if you’re new to coaching and are seeking a definitive guide to the principles and processes involved.

If you’re an established coach, you’ll also find the Coaching Manual to be a very handy reference book to dip in and out of as needed. The ‘at a glance’ panels are particularly useful for this purpose as are the free downable resources that accompany the book.

This book is essential reading for anyone interested in coaching. It covers a wealth of information on the practice of coaching and practical exercises on how to get better at it. All that and it’s written in a clear and wonderfully readable way, communicating what can sometimes be nuanced and layered in a simple yet comprehensive way. Having read this book cover to cover the first time I got it I come back to this book multiple times a year as a reference manual and reminder of good practice.
    Highly recommended.

My coaching trainer recommended this book, and I can see why. An authoritative piece of work in it’s domain. Good practical advice for the budding coach (me!), and a good reference as I progress my coaching training. Worth having on your shelf as a go to reminder of good coaching practise.

So when I bought this Kindle Version I was dismayed to find my Kindle Paperwhite was not compatible. Julie Starr Coaching have gone above and beyond to resolve this for me and I now have this as well as their Mentoring Manual in paperback! This was very personalised and engaging service so I have no doubt they are extremely good at what they do as well! Thank you thank you for all your help and support!
