I bought the box set, and I’m so glad I did. Some of the finest naval stories centered around the Motor Torpedo Boats in WW2. The characters are strong and mesh together wonderfully. If the series had been made into a film it would have been a winner. The lady that stood out for me was Kristen, I imagined her to be like the late Honor Blackman, a great character. Certainly one of the best naval series I have read, and I was sorry when I finished them. Totally recomended.

Expected a action war story but with the various characters and the story line I got more. Thoughly enjoyed this series
by Raymond Donnan
Thoroughly enjoyed reading these four books. Lots of action, a bit of humour, and a bit of drama. Would recommend.

This is a light-hearted series of stories with (almost) predictable outcomes of naval adventures and the outrageous sexual goings on of Lady E, much of which I found tediously filling the pages. Nevertheless I found it hard to put down if only to discover the outcome of each adventure. The authors research on MTBs has enabled descriptions thereof to be convincing.

This is an amazing book, a family wartime saga with a navy setting. I hardly put it down, and was then sorry when it ended. The role of MTBs in the war was a new one for me, and very exciting throughout. The humour and the sexual innuendos along the way set the drama off beautifully! Full of believable characters, this novel was penned by a craftsman who had the reader’s enjoyment in mind. I’d give it a 10 if I could!

Did these books need a sex hungry MILF, a Toy Boy, so many medals & promotions? I don’t think so & the recapping of events etc was annoying hence only 4 stars.

Great stories. Cross between Boys’ Own, Lady Chatterley’s Lover and seamanship manual. Found it difficult at first to understand the seamanship language. But overall thoroughly entertaining stories.

I have thoroughly enjoyed these books, and they probably deserve a five-star rating, but I found the sudden switching of scene, without so much as an extra ‘Return’ distracting, and some of the dialogue is seriously anachronistic! I will, however, be looking for more by Alan Savage.
